Just realized that if you use festoons high power 3 led for the license plate you will get light out error.
Make sure they are can-bus error free festoons before you buy them. They are not available from suerpbrightled !
Try letting the car idle for 30 seconds before turning on the plate bulbs.
I have the same bulbs and that seems to work for me.

I think its got something to do with cold weather too. When I went through car wash, the lights turn on automatically and I get the error.
I bought some from Ebay for $12 and have no errors now. Not as bright as I want but good enough.

My car has been parked in my garage since I bought it so didn't really notice how the lights functioned.
I installed LEDs in the front and back maps, visor mirrors and trunk today (not the dome since Tunerdomes sent me the wrong facking bulbs).
Question #1: Are the interior lights supposed to come on when you unlock the doors? Mine don't. (BTW, I made sure that dome switch was set to the middle position)
Question #2: Are the interior lights suppposed to turn on when any of the doors open? Mine don't. They only turn on when I open the driver's door.
Question #3: Is the trunk light supposed to turn on when you pop the trunk via remote? Mine doesn't. It only comes on when the interior lights are on.

Thanks!
1) Yes. Once I unlock the doors with my remote the interior lights turn on.
2) Lights turn on when any door opens
3) Trunk light turns on when opened with remote and manually.
Just tested it out. I got my entire kit from USP Motorsports.

Much appreciated! I wonder what's up... I'll try one more time.
Update: I put the key in the ignition and got a low battery warning. Maybe the car is trying to conserve power. Will have to take it for a spin and see if that changes anything.

Did you accidentally bump that toggle switch when you were putting in the front map light bulbs? If it got shifted, it would cause your interior lights to not come on. (Can either be set to be on constant, when doors are open, or off)...maybe set on off now?
My battery was low and the lights wouldnt come on the next day I switched to LEDS. And I also heard another member complain the same. Now I hear another complaint about low battery...
But the good news is, once you take your car for a spin, the battery recharges and it stayed at 100% on all the cars...Just something to watch out for.

Any update is taking the car out for a spin did the trick?

I've tried replacing all interior bulbs with LEDs from superbrightleds.com. While footwell, door puddle lights and license plate lights work well, I faced a problem with front/rear dome and map lights in my 03 Audi Allroad
The problem partially matches the description with flickering LEDs. When I open the door, all lights go on at full power, then I start the engine and they dim, but don't turn off completely. Instead, they glow and flicker. If I turn them on manually while the engine is running, they turn off completely. If I change the switch to off position, they start glowing at 10-20% power.
I've been digging around forums, and from what i found, it seems that standard LEDs will not work, well at least for my car. I need some sort of canbus error free LED lights. They have an internal resistor which makes the system think as if those are regular filament lights. This drives me crazy. I mean it's extremely annoying that I can't turn my lights on while either driving the car, or when the engine is idling. The only way the go on at full power with running engine is when i open a door.
Has anyone had similar issue? Any resolution?

It seems that this problem can be solved in our cars (not sure about yours) without having to install all bulbs as CANBUS. I would suggest replacing the dome lights with the error free bulbs and leaving the rest for now.
I would also recommend eBay instead of Superbrightleds...they rip you off! Similar quality bulbs can be had at a fraction of the cost on eBay.

At $2.99/pair including shipping, I have nothing to lose!
Well, I guess that would be the solution to the problem. I didn't find any canbus error free LED map lights anyhow. I'll place an order today, and will post an update as soon as I install them
Finally received my error free festoons today, and before installing them noticed that the visor bulbs wouldn't turn on (without key in ignition and after lights turn off) even with the original dome bulbs. I tried installing the error frees in the dome anyways, and no difference.
I moved the error frees over to the visor light and problem solved. Everything works and no flicker.
To summarize, of all the interior bulbs, only the festoons in the visor have to be error frees.

Got my canbus error free LED dome lights from V-leds.com and passenger ceiling lights from ebay. They work like a charm, no issues with dimming and turning on.
Problem solved.
I guarantee you that if you switch front maps to rear maps, you will never have flickering issues or dim light issues.
My front and rear maps are exactly the same and are non-error cancelling... BTW, I used the natural white WLED-xHP5 from superbrights and they don't produce a "hot spot". I like that they're white and have no blue tint. The tunerdome error free festoons have a slight blue tint. Again, I would recommend that people look around on eBay instead as these websites charge >400% more.
The visor flickering had only occurred when the key was out and car had timed out (interior lights off). The only way to turn them on was to open the door, turn on dome lights (switch), BOTH map lights, etc. Once I put the error free into the visors...no problems.

Here is my setup with zero issues. I swapped the front lights with rear though. Yes, I have hot spots on the dome but I prefer more light..Did you switch your glove box and trunk lights too ? If yes, can I get the ebay store you got them from ? I got my license plate ones from ebay for $12..No issues. they were CAN BUS error free though.

When you get in your car later today, close the door and wait for the lights to fully dim. Then try turning on either of the visor lights. Did you change your glove box light as well? I think that this one has to be LED too to have the problem.
And another warning to future purchasers, don't make the same mistake as us... BUY ON EBAY

I did try the visor lights and never had a problem. But like you said, it might have something to do with glove box light. I never switched my glovebox/trunk lights. Wanting to switch now...Ebay ??

I didn't use these for the dome 3710-xHP6: 6 High Power LED Festoon Bulb | $ 14.95...
I've used 3610 as recommended by superbrightleds.com. 3710 is the right lenght but that way too much light. With the 3610 you need squeeze a bit the copper contacts because they are shorter.
But 3610-x4 LED Festoon Bulb is only 2.84$ and they are bright enough.
I've switched to LED every ceiling light in my car. No error. But the dome light is always slighty on! Kinda weird.
I've used 3610-x4 instead off 3710-x6.
During the day you don't really notice, but at night there's always a slight glow to both dome lights.

Any idea why?
My best guess is, 3710-x6 needs more power to even glow slightly and although they are getting power they are not slightly glowing. I see no glow at all. Another guess might be, I dont have my trunk lights and glove box lights switched to LED's yet.

With the right bulbs, they shouldn't flicker. As you'll see above, I had an issue with the visor lights flickering/not turning on and resolved that with error free bulbs...they have additional resistors that emulate a standard bulb. I'm using regular LEDs for the dome and error free in the visor and have no issues.
Switched out my tunerdomes interior LED set from last year and replaced them with the ones from eBay in this thread. They are perfect and I have no more codes in vagcom and my battery doesn't drain anymore as it did with the tunerdomes LEDs. Also for 20-30 bucks compared to retailers who sell the same thing for 100+, this is a no brainer.

An update on the $2.99 ebay 36mm error free festoons http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-Pcs-36mm-C...72306b&vxp=mtr). They don't fit it in the license plate light housing, they're disappointing output wise as the 6 leds don't put out much more light than the 2 in the tunerdomes. And, I found the color to be slightly greenish-grey...not the white I'm looking for.
They work in the interior. Good bang for buck if you don't mind that it's not true white.
Does anyone know which LEDs to get for the footwell lights? i saw people go over it a couple times in this thread but no answers. i was thinking of maybe swapping out the white LEDs for orange/red ones to match the console/dash.

Try reversing the polarity. If it doesnt work, just put the LED in and leave it alone for a day or two.
It will work ! Nope, I am not kidding..My puddle light wouldnot work no matter what I tried. I just left the light in and called it a day.. It started working next day. Same goes for my glove box light too.

Wow, it seems as though I should've read further into this thread, rather than the first couple of pages...
I went with the SuperBrights recommended on the first page:
2 | WLED-x6: 6 LED T10 Wedge Base Bulb | $ 3.74 | (FRONT MAP)
WLED-CW6: Cool White
2 | 921-x9: Wedge Base LED bulb | $ 3.70 | (REAR MAP)
921-W9: Cool White
2 - 3719-CWHP3 Festoons (License Plate).
The front maps did not work at all. The rear maps were very dim and flickered. Finally the license plates light turned on and looked great, but immediately gave me an error code. I guess I'll be reading through this thread again for the right solution.
It sucks because I only wanted to order the license plate bulbs, but SuperBright requires a minimum order of $25-30 before taxes and shipping in order to ship to Canada, so I had to spend more money on bulbs I didn't really care for and in the end, all 3 were garbage.
Oh yeah, I have a 2012 and so clearly I should have read into this more. They may have worked for others so make sure you read the entire thread before buying and learn from my mistakes!
^^^ That is odd. I still have the Superbright units that the OP listed. They have been in since I posted in this thread in 2009. Still no problem with flickering, dimming or errors. I have a 2010 though.

Try swapping the front and rear maps. Put the licence plate lights in the front dome light.
For a not too bright licence plate light, go with the Blesk bulbs.
