The tiptronic comes with a vacuum booster pump. Maybe you can adapt an OEM one to your car? I bet John (diagnosticator) can help figure out how to wire it up to the existing harness. I'm sure you can find a used one somewhere.

you shoudl not have 5in/hg w/3652's, it should be 9-10. It should have no affect on the brake pedal. I've never had an issue with them, and that lifter tick should not be like that.

The lifters should have been submersed in a container of oil, and "bled" a bunch.

Do you have any pics of the cams at tdc..Did you use the billet steel ones with the adjustable cam gear???

Yes. With a tiptronic you don't get the on/off at the manifold that you do with a manual that is used to keep the vacuum canister charged. Consequently the vacuum source is supplemented by the pump.

Now If I follow Bentley they say that the marks have to be perfectly aligned with the arrows..I think this is where I get the low vacuum

You are not going to get any more vacuum then that with a stock idle, its just how the cams are designed. I was talking to a CAT cam distributor and when the CAT cams came up they told me that the 52s should NOT be used on a street car.

Finally watched your video. That is a lifter tick. Or a valve. That is after I tune out the injector noise.... What does the stethoscope point to? region of the head?

Do not drive this until you figure out the noise..

The marks are the threaded holes for the bolts...I am not getting any noise from the valve cover or tensioner area..All the noises I get are in the fuel rail and injectors

Do you have a picture of the cam gears themselves? I see many holes about the circumference. Bob marked his but yours have no paint markings..

You could put OEM injectors in and listen. They should idle fine and will be much quieter.

by those pics (presuming they're the correct holes, as there are many) your cams are lined up fine. Check for vac leaks elsewhere, because anything about 900rpm's and up should be seeing 9-10 inhg.

I also have a cutom intake manifold and r32 tb but I don't think that could cause a lower vacuum

no, not if its idling at a normal RPM, i have a 76mm throttle body with no issue.

No pics of the cam gears...The way they are made you can't have them installed other than the correct way..The only issue is if the gears are not zeroed in on the cam as per oem..this will throw the intake cam off and trigger a cam sensor code

Good point I have Mahle pistons Comp ratio is 8.5:1 elevation is pretty much almost sea level....The guy in Ottawa has 10inhg and the elevation should be very similar

Also, I got from Mike Unitronic that several of is clients using the same cams in Europe see the same vacuum as me, but I think they bought their cams from Bob

I'm inclined to say put the OEM cams in and see what happens if you are so worried about the cams being the problem.

I still think you didn't bleed the lifters properly, or enough.

Yes I did, he says they are correct

ok these are 2 different problems..I will follow what you said and hold the engine at 2000rpm next time I start it..

The low vacuum is the second one..I can live with the low vacuum, the only thing is that it may point to the cams not being zeroed in..That is what worries me and I am trying to determine if I have or not a problem..I will wait though until Mike hooks the vag to it and if a I get the cam sensor code then I will know for sure...In the mean time I cannot say that this thing doesn't make me scratch my head

One question vvt and non vvt uses the same chain on the cams???

Having lower compression will cause lower vacuum and going from 9.5 down to 8.5 is a significant decrease along with the big overlap of those cams which also will decrease manifold pressure so that completely explains the vacuum. And I have the same chain from my amb head with vvt now in my aeb head with non vvt tensioner.

Those cams are on spot as far as the chain being timing correctly. Bump the idle up and see what happens.

Then what you are getting for low vac is correct for your setup. My CR is 8.5:1, Schrick 252/260 cams at 1100 ft and I see around 12-15 vacuum at idle even with an idle that is around 1500 rpms with the engine warmed up. When my CR was 8:1 my vacuum was around 10-12.
