Yes I saw that button under [Adaption] but was affraid of turning off the whole Xenon stuff LOL !!
    I'll give it a try

PS: Is the Xenon Range adjustment still a "holy grail" or has anybody come up with a solution ??
The stock adjustment is blinfolding and people keeps flashing me back

    .
you can adjust the headlight height with the hex screws on the top of the light themselves - the xenon range adjustment only adjusts the xenon level to keep it at wherever you set it...

Yeah no thanks to Ross Tech, most of the cool coding we've figured out right here. Well and with some good translations from Rene.

    Found this coding on motor-talk.de...

    Showroom Effect of Adaptive Headlights:
    [55 - Xenon Range]
    [Adaptation - 10] -> Channel 20
    0 = Disabled
    1 = Enabled

After activating the showroom effect the dynamic cornering light at vehicle standstill can be demonstrated to the customer. The showroom effect remains active until the showroom effect is deactivated via the function program.

Function program = the Adaptation channels (reverse the coding done in Channel 20) :)

I just copied the text from Ross-Tech's description for the A6 (4F)

Has anyone found (or feel they've exhausted the search) for codes to show the 'instantaneous speed' in the DIS for P- models? I've done the codes to enable Trip1&2 and see the Car-menu settings; with these in play it feels like the instantaneous speed setting is there teasing me - available either through other codes or some weird combination of Car-menu settings. I'm trying to get this without swapping the stalk.

btw, a big thank you to everyone's work and contribution on these codes!

sorry - I do not think there is a way without changing the stalks (which is my next mod)
David has run adaptation maps of 17 with the speed display on and off - if there was a coding way to do this, I believe that is where it would be...

Hey. Not sure how old this thread is (can't find where date/time stamp is displayed), but regardless was hoping someone can PM me with some help. Looking to change idle rpm on a 2010 2.0TFSI engine, but need a security accesss code for the engine module in order to enable the adaptation channel(s). Uwe Ross has reported they don't have one yet, and forum members on various boards are telling me they don't either. If anyone has a security code I can try, please post and I'll report back if it works. At this point, it's trial and error... TIA.

Hi, I would like you to help me if it's possible because I have had some problems coding an Audi A5 with the Vagcom.

First of all I would like you to know that there are several Audi A5 cars with "1AT" ABS unit and Audi Hold Assist which TPMS can't be activated because the car reject the coding when you try to check the TPMS box inside ABS-Brakes - Byte 1 (Bit 3).
    It says:
    "Coding rejected
Error 31: Request out of range"

My current code that I can't modify is: "1B4500"

Someone of you know it yet because I have posted it in some webs.

The second problems is when I try to activate the driver seat memory in the key in my A5 with just electrical seats but without memory.

My car is supposed to be able to do it because it has a little memory module under the seat to remember the seat position when you fold the back rest to get into the rear seats...
The point is that maybe it was a coincidence, but just after coding this:

"module 36 Seat Mem. Drvr (J136), O7, Coding, change Byte 2 bit number 0, to value 1 (checked)"

The upper electric button of the driver"s back rest stopped working but all the lower electric seat buttons keep on working.
It's curious that even the headrest doesn't go automatically down when you fold de backrest (as it must do) but if you move it with its button it works and go up and down at you will.

I did an autoscan ant it said this two error into the "module 36 Seat Mem. Drvr (J136)":

Address 36: Seat Mem. Drvr (J136) Labels: None

Can anybody help me with this please?
The point is that the actual coding (08017025002444441000) is the factory original without vagcom modifications and the value I put when it stopped working was (08017125002444441000).
As well, with this last coding my car was supposed to be able to memorize the seat position in the key (I have Advanced key) but on the MMI whe you geit into the "Driver seat adjustment" it says only a message (there should be a menu to select Memory Key ON/OFF) saying " The key has the memory deactivated".
Does anybody know how I can activate the memory in the key?

I have read all the post from post one but haven't found anything about this different from what I still know.

i recently installed coilovers KW V3 on my ADS-equipped A4B8. KW has a canceller kit to get rid of the CEL (which is probably just a resistor kit) which i also bought and installed. All was fine for the 1st few days until today when i got a SUSPENSION FAULT on my DIS. Scanned with vagcom and extracted this:

i could probably email KW germany but i doubt that i would get help as fast as if i post here.

my question is would it be possible to disable susp-elecs via VAGCOM so that i dont get the error code anymore. It reappears as soon as I clear the codes.

There is no long coding available under SUSP-ELEC. so i didn't want to click around just in case i damaged something else.

Thanks a lot C99, as ever. Anyway I knew it, but the point is that there are more A4 owners with Vagcom knowledge than A5 ones, although some of the A5 owners like you know a lot about it.

About this seat fault, I have just received a phone call from my Audi Dealer and they have told me that they have just asked for the seat control module (the memory module) to germany because It's broken.
It seems like it has had an electric fault and has broken itself, so they are going to replace it without cost for me.

Thanks for all, and when I have the car fixed I will post if the Seat memory in the key works with the new seat memory module..

About the TPMS problem it seems there's nothing to do with it, but Uwe from rosstech is having a look at it through vwvortex forum...

Well People, I have just solved my driver's seat problem...

Well, It has been Uwe from Ross tech who has teached me the way to solve it.
So Thanks so much to Uwe from Rosstech for his big help

I leave the solution here in case somebody have the same problem as me in future:

Uwe told me: "Start by running the seat through its complete range of adjustment manually using the controls on the seat itself; that should get rid of the "No or Incorrect Basic Setting / Adaptation" codes."
I did it, running the lower seat buttons through all their range and once I finished my upper seat buttons started to work as ever...

The best of all is that my Audi dealer couldn't/didn't know fix it, and even told me that the seat memory module was broken and they had to change it.
You will imagine their face when I told them how I had fixed the problem without changing anything...

What I haven't solved yet is the seat memory in the key, because my MMI keeps on saying on the screen when I get into the driver's seat function (what is red colour) "The key hasn't activated the memory", so I will have to find the way to activate the memory in the key...
    Any opinion will be listened.

About the TPMS activating problem, it keeps on being impossible to do it, but right now I'm happy with my driver's seat working properly.

I was always hesitant to purchase my own VAG-COM cable and relied on my buddy to do it for me because of all the "bytes and bits talk" that I did not understand. When the dealer reset all my codes, I went ahead and ordered a cable and was able to restore all my previous codes and MORE using this thread and David's awesome site. Can't wait to keep learning and coding with the rest of you.

I believe it flashes/strobes brake lights during emergency braking... this so the person behind you know you are making a quick stop...
I also believe that there is another option that does the same thing, but with the turn signal lights...

The code you probably think of is this one - but this coding also has the "Emergency Brake Flashing via Brake"

    Code:
    [46 - Comfort System]
    [Coding - 07] -> Long Coding Helper -> Byte 8

Bit 0 – Emergency Brake Flashing via Turn Lights active (1 = active)
Bit 1 – Emergency Brake Flashing via Brake Lights active (1 = active)

I´ve activated that coding "emergency brake flashing..." and that seems a different thing from "Brake system warning light...", it´s a pity there´s so little information about all these codings that you have to be guessing all the time.

Yes, it's exactly that screen which doesn't appear in my MMI.
When you get into Driver's seat MMI screen, it doesn't show you the screen you have copied, it shows the message "The key hasn't activated the memory".

That is what I want to activate. the point is that I have Advanced key and moreover my car remembers some configurations with each key because it puts the Climate control temperature you leave with each key...

In this case it seems the problem is on the keys and I should have to activate something on them...

Hello DavidB8, you have said you discovered many bits of 09-Central electric . Do you know right bits for Auxilliary heating, which enable Auxilliary heating programming in MMI ?

If memory serves me you enable the Aux menu in the hidden menu. I don't recall any programing in 09 for the Aux heater either, I believe it's in 46. Not to say there may be more. Aux Heater also has at least one or two of it's own modules (7D and/or 18) as well which would contain some coding.

It is a future retro fit plan but I need some newer B8's showing up on eBay.de to get the proper unit I require.

Sooo What are you up to??

See this is why I bug people for space on Dropbox :)

Thanks, I tried this but nothing new is shown in MMI (even I have MMI 2G).

Idea is enable Auxilliary ventiliation. As I found somewhere it is possible for A4 B7 (I did it today on my wife's A4 B7 and it really works programming etc.), of course there is error code in 17 Instruments "No J364 Auxilliary module find", but I don't need it, if only blower and ventilation is activated.

I am not sure you can retrofit Auxiliary heating, because it is only for diesel engines, because it is powered by diesel fuel.

It's for gas and delisel now.

I know what your trying to enable now. Non of us was able to figure it out. There is supposed to be some sort of feature that will allow the fans to blow for up to 30 mins I think it is after the car is off. We never did figure that one out and noticed Audi removed it from their owners manual after 2009.

    Hey Jabicho,
i've changed the DRL to the High Beams and dimmed it down to 20%. As you see, the Halogen DRL is still running...but it is dimmed to 20% too...also the indicators are dimmed up to 20%.
I just was testing how it looks and i thought, i could find a way, to do it like you would...but i have no clue how to.

Thanx for your answer, I see that you´re stuck in this thing as I am...and I don´t know how to go any further. There´s few of us with halogens and codings for our lights are few and far between. It´s a pity that these p13w lights are so yellowish, well, I guess there´s no much we can do about that...

I was driving a loaner S5 coupe the other day and noticed a function in the MMI called "passenger seat synchronize" which allows driver to adjust the passenger seat to the rearest position or same position as the driver's seat. Any one has idea on how to activate on a sedan?

Are sure about this? The German web configurator still offers auxillary heating WITH aux. ventilation.

@C99: Did you find out something on coding the aux. ventilation without having an aux. heating? I also read in Motor-Talk that it was possible for the B7 and decided to figure out if it is possible with the B8 as well.

It can't be done on the sedan. The A5/S5 has a memory control module on the passenger seats where the sedan doesn't. It's so the passenger seat can return to it's proper position after being moved to allow access to the back seat. Our cars of course don't have that issue being a sedan.

Aux Ventilation was a stand a lone feature available at one point. It requires a separate coolant pump though that is not installed standard. It has to be installed with the Aux Heating though or you wouldn't be able to warm the inside of the car.
