Not an answer you can use - but you'll get the outside temperature in the non-MMI system... it is not a full screen display, only one on the bottom line.
I hate to go against you, but that is not true - at least on my car... The temperature on the bottom line of the non-mmi screen is the temperature the climate control unit is set to... Audi does this because the single-zone ac lacks a built in screen, therefore the temperature is displayed on the bottom line on the 'radio' screen.
Now what I don't know is what do the P+'s w/ the dual zone ac and built in screen show in that same position, I thought it was just blank...

On my old Cars , it was possible to activate the function .. doesn´t matter if Light sensor is installed or not. On my Touran , on my Seat Alea , on my Golf 4 and so on .. But not on my Audi .. I work for EMC² Germany , so our customer is also Audi in Ingolstadt .. so i went to the devolpers and try to Ask , but they only tell me .. You need an Light switch with Auto function and a Light sensor. But i wont belive it to 100 % .. So i try .. i can successfully activate the LH/CH function on MMI .. but nothing happend .. then i "activate" the Light sensor .. Result : Error Light sensor ! on FIS ..
Logic :
if LH/CH is enabled on MMI
if Lightswitch is on Auto
if Lighsensor detects : dark
if remote control is pushes open .. Leaving home will be enabled
if you leave the car
if the Switch is on Auto
if its dark
if you press the lock button from your rc : lights will be glow as per definable time at mmi.
Thats the theory ..
No we have to find a solution to "say" the system , that a Light Sensor is installed , it´s dark and log no error. And Override the Auto Position on the Light Switch ..
Sorry for my poor english .. i hope you understand my words.
In the past you don´t need an extra Module or Light sensor .. all Cars from VW Bases on the Golf 4 & 5 Platform an they Subbranch like Skoda & Seat , it workt fine without extra Hardware.
I think it´s nealy the same like the TPS thing .. only one or two missing bits ..
It was also with the older Audi´s possible , exept the A3 , for these Model you need the other Light switch , than it work t perfect ..

My bad
Do you then have the outside temperature in the DIS, as the the normal MMI has - or do you have no outside temp at all??

I would love to have CH/LH... (I do not have auto lights)
I thought there was a CH/LH control module that is missing on the non auto lights cars...
On the P+ with LEDs these's a module #55 called Xenon Range, the P- do not have this. Maybe part of the auto-leveling system. I have no idear. Not sure where to plug this thing in at, if you could obtain it plus the wiring, et al.
Also, P+ have module 36, btw so i'm thinking they can do the seat pos tied to keys mod posted earlier.

Your correct. 55 controls the adaptive light modules and the auto level and height control. Although the lights have their own controller they fall under 55 and are controlled through it. Yes again 36 is the seat memory module which appears to do more than just the seat as you mentioned.

But you dont need an extra Modul .. for CH/LV are 2 Components needed .. The Light Sensor and the Light Switch with the Auto Position .. than you are able to Prog. it .. We compare the Autoscan Lists , no extra Unit ..

Isn't the light sensor part of the mirror, not 100%. The first link is to an adaptive cruise control radar sensor.
The rain/light sensor is part of the mirror - and a retrofit also include a new windscreen, because there need to be a clear view in the black area behind the mirror.

DAVIDB8.... Friend..... Mod-man..... Do you know if its possible to change with VAGCOM the blinker-lights at the back of the car? In EU we got the orange pinkers, and I think in America the red-LED-light flashes when u r using the blinkers. Could it be changed? I like the red-blinkers...
Thnx for researching....

You dont need to 100% the new Windscreen with the new Mirror .. it´s also possible to get the cable set and the Sensor , an build it "somewhere else" ..
For the Red indicator light you need also other back lights .. in Germany it´s not allowed .. if you import an US Car to Germany , than you may get an special authorization .. But not for German cars ..
It was the same in the Past .. the US Guy had the third Brake Light .. in Germany not allowed .. Import cars must been modified .. The "German Solution" was two extra Back lights , looks terrible .. Also LED Technic .. no not allowed .. now it´s a Standard ..
In the past i was stop by the police , because i had in my old Opel complete red back lights , i have to pay 150 Euro and also reconfigure direct back to the old glasses ..
German "street Law" is crazy .. normally we have a EU Rule .. these rules ar written for the whole EU .. but German Officers are 110% and for example in Italy or Nederlands , the are more tolerant ..
Okay enough crying Back to Topic ..

Yeah I figured that one out. I have mine active so it looks like the second picture. Module 9 activate Byte 10 bit 0 (change to 1) Then go to byte 2 bit 6 and activate that one (change to 1). And your done. Lights on at half strength and they go to full for use as turn signals.

This one´s for Dvidb8, from your Spanish forum followers:Some of us round here have halogen DRL, not leds, and frankly they look quite dull.So the idea was to change them and use high beams as DRl wirth some "Blueish light" which would look cooler. For using high beams as DRL we need to decrease their intensity, which we finally managed to do, but the problem is taht the original DRL stay on with them, can you see if you can find the way to set high beams alone as DRL? This is what we know until now:
This is our original coding, Ross Tech seems to be mistaken here, as the correct selection for setting highs as DRl in byte 2 is to choose bit 1 (via front side markers active) .Then we go to module 09:
Halogen lights:
Channel 1: Brightness of DRL
and changed the original value there (100%) to a lower value, because these are 55 w H7 lights as high beams. So we set 33% there, but the problem is that the other lights stay on with them (quite dimmed, but visible) .Please give us a hand, my amigo....regards

So what happens if you have everything unchecked (Set the value to 00)? Do you have any lights on at all? I can check this on mine but thought I would ask just in case. I have a few items I can look at. I did come across some settings that I haven't looked at yet so I may be able to help I'm just not 100% sure yet. I'll let you know. I hope to get some real time in the car this weekend.

Haven´t checked what happens...but I suppose 00 means no light at all...I was hoping there was an option in which to choose the number of lights functioning as DRL or so...
Well you should be able to do it in the menu you showed. If you uncheck 6 that should turn your lights off then check off 2 for your high beams. Have you tried that?

Yes, sure I tried that...I´ve tried everything here and whatever you choose (de-selectiong bit 6 which comes as default) the original DRL are on all the time. The funny thing is that the only coding which coincides is bit 3: fog lights as drl ( with original drl on, of course)...the rest are out of position: for the high beams as drl you have to selet 1, cause bit 2 would set main beams as drl. This is crazy...anyway thanx for trying to help, Davidb8, I understand that there isn´t much you can do since you don´t have halogens...
I'll take a look tomorrow. It may be difficult trying to reproduce since I don't have the same bulbs but I may be able to reproduce it using a different combination. The first thing I have to check is if I can turn the DRL's off. If not then I have something to go with. I have mapped some coding to turn the DRL's off but I never checked to see if I could turn something else on. So I don't want to give false hope with out going back through the code and looking but to early to give up.

I'm not getting very far on this one. I am guessing that your module programs different because what Ross-Tech has listed works on mine. If I set my coding to 04 I have high beams only on. Of course I have HID so I can't verify anything beyond that. Perhaps another member here can check their settings and see if theirs will code properly or of we are dealing with a coding issue based on headlight type.
Anyone?

I have never seen this before... My LED DRL's are at 100% all the time unless the headlights are on, during which they are around 50%. Does this allow you to change the brightness of them when the headlights are on?
If so, MANY people have been waiting for this...

Yes, it is.
This activation maintains the brightness of the LEDs always intense.
With this activation when we put the flashing lights or LED junction do not lower the intensity.
So when my new Prestige comes in I assume the dealership will vag-com my car for free before I pick it up if I ask?? I just want the needle sweep and the DRL's to stay on with turn signal.

Depends on the dealer. I heard some won't even do it.
