Hey everyone - I have recently enabled the passenger mirror tilt while reversing...

However it is not working as I expected -
I leave my mirror control knob in the passenger position, and shift the car in reverse...
The mirror tilts down as expected. However, when I shift the car out of reverse, the mirror does not tilt back up, I need to switch the knob out of passenger to get the mirror to return to its previous position (which it does automatically after switching the knob)
I tried both versions of the coding changes...

Is this happening with anyone else?

It only comes back up when you drive at more than a certain speed (something like 15mph). This is so that if you're shunting to and fro it's not going up and down all the time.

oh... I didn't know that and would have never figured it out without you comment. Makes sense though
I was worried that I was going to have to switch my mirror know back and forth every time I reversed.

Nevermind! Reinstalled USB driver and all is well :)

Does the crazy ECU programming protection in the 2010s cause VAG-COM to be flakey? I have a HEX-CAN USB with version 908.1 and it says "Not connected to car!" even when I am. Car is on. Any suggestions?

any more technical info let me know cause i dit all the retrofit with the boosters.note that you need only 3 boosters and you swapp only the left and center back.the right one you need to fit and weld the cables to the antena, big job to strip it if an avant or allroad.

    A. Keeping the DRL intensity at the same brightness when the headlights are on.
    B. Having a audible beep when unlocking the doors. It obviously does it when i lock the doors and i read something on A6 retrofits that allows it to double beep when unlocking.

    Anyone?
Hey youyou I couldn't have said it better myself!

I'm in the same boat as you, have you had any luck finding this information?

On the DRLs, I don't have a clue (or at least know what I need to be looking for!)

With the double confirm tone, it's about the same. Although I did my best to try following the steps translated on the (awesome) a6retrofit site, to no avail:

    Quoted from the site:
EuroDan has confirmed that one can also enable a dual opening beep by changing the value on adapter channel 63 (in module 46) from 40 to 44 (or, judging by the link/info in the next text, adding 4 to whatever value you have there). (Old text about this: According to an unconfirmed post at motor-talk.de (http://www.motor-talk.de/forum/codie...3.html?page=57), one can also enable opening dual beeps in addition to a closing beep. The instructions are: "Komfortsystem (Adresse 46) / Anpassung / Zentralverriegelung Funktionen -> zum eingetragenen Wert +4 addieren" which translates to "Comfort System (address 46) / adjust / add central functions -> to the registered value +4".)

So, didn't look as simple as the other "check the box" long coding MODS.

I was worried that I'd break it, lol. I don't really understand what I am guessing the above to reference as "adaptation." I added 4 to the number, and the software asked if I was sure I wanted to do that... so I just hit YES and hoped for the best. It didn't break anything so far as I could see, but it also didn't enable the double beeps. I changed it back just to be sure.

If anyone could shed some light on this, I would really appreciate it. This forum is great and all of you guys are awesome, BTW.

    Thanks Much!

Well ** I figured it out! At least the second part...

After I wrote this, I noticed the wording in my quote of a6retrofit's instructions: Change the value of channel 63 of module 46. I had missed that part originally, and was just changing the value of the first channel.

Indeed, I added 4 to the valuse in channel 63 and it worked! Thanks!

awesome - this is a feature that I really wanted and it looks like you have found (or confirmed) the solution.

What was your original and final value of mod 46 chan 63?

I hope you get it working then too!!

My original value was 40, and after changing is now 44.

Now that I've been able to change this setting, I wonder what others are lurking, ready to be found. My main concern is that I'll break it, obviously... but does anyone have any suggestions as to where I can start looking for ideads?

    Thanks again!!!

    Nice find!

This confirms my theory about the rear wiper. For a while I thought it had a mind of it's own. More than a couple times it would start wiping when I knew I had it off!

    Awesome Brisbois!!!
Followed what you said and it works! :)
Now if we can only find a way for the DRL'S to stay at full brightness when the headlights lights are on that would be fantastic!
I managed to get the 3G MMI menu working as well but haven't played with anything yet.

    Re: Cool VAG-COM codes

Great thread and all. But, could someone explain to me exactly what Vag-Com is?? I understand it is to change the programming on options and such. Where do you get the cable from? How much is it? You use a lap top or what? Is there a program you download with software in to access these codes?

Ooh - cool! How does it compare? I'll probably give it a try myself tomorrow, but I'm curious to hear your thoughts if you've had a chance to drive the car after making this change. Thanks!

Well just figured you started the project so thought you'd like to try it and see. I'm not sure if this stuff makes it to Ross Tech but it should so future versions incorporate the information.

    Re: Cool VAG-COM codes

Hi everybody, my 2009 A4 b8 avant has halogen drl of a weird yellowish colur, and I´d like to change them for the high beam lights but working as DRL intensity. Right now, this is my coding:

I´ve tried the option "DRL via front side markers" and the high beams work a drl, but sadly at full intensity...Is there a way to change this and lower the light output? Thanx for reading...

    Alarm Double Beep Help?

Ok I'm not sure why I can't get to it but it comes up as no channel 63 on module 46. Am I missing something?

I go to 46, then adaptation 10, put in 63 and nothing. No channel found or something like that. I have a 2010 but I see others with the same year have done it.

    Any hints would be appreciated.

I am able to do this on my s5.

Got all vag updates done on my sisters new a4 avant prem + this weekend
I spent a few hours tonight going through the hidden menu and I can't seem to find anything that works as you mention. Perhaps you can provide some more information as to how you enabled it on your S5.

EDIT: Ok I checked the specs on the S5 and it states memory seats for both. That's why you can match them up. The A4 doesn't have that option so no you wont be able to do it.

    huh, that's interesting...
Mine worked without a hitch... My only guess is to try again. Maybe manually click through all the channels instead of typing it in...

Tried it 3 or 4 times and tried going through the channels manually when I first tried it.

Did the long code change when the channel was altered or is that something different.

The one you linked to can't be used on a B8 (need VCDS 805+)

and NO they are not legit - and there are no support on them.

If you find a China cable that seams to work, then you buy it on your own risk - no help or what so ever.

I tried a while back to get the battery meter working with my '09 non Nav symphony without success (maybe I did it wrong, but...)

Last night I was poking around and found you can enable it by going to 56 - Radio, Adaptation, then select "Car menu Options 1". Ross-Tech has some help for the values ** you should be able to add 16 to what you now have to enable the battery menu under "CAR". I went from 65519 to 65535 and it enabled the battery level meter. Looks like 65535 should enable everything, Ambiance lighting, Adaptive cruise, etc that I don't have, but so far nothing seems wrong ** the menus for things I don't have just don't show up.
