    Re: Cool VAG-COM codes

Have you tried to erase the faults - and then see if they come back again??

    I don't have the MY2010 - but a MY2009, and only a normal Avant.

    This is my unit data:

Address 19: CAN Gateway (J533) has the same data, and coding as your.
    Code:
    Address 19: CAN Gateway (J533) Labels: 8T0-907-468.clb
       Part No SW: 8T0 907 468 Q HW: 8T0 907 468 L
       Component: GW-BEM 5CAN-M H10 0095
       Revision: FB600048 Serial number: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
       Coding: 000303
       Shop #: WSC 06335 000 00000

       Part No SW: 8K0 915 181 B HW: 8K0 915 181 B
       Component: J367-BDM H04 0150
Address 55: Xenon Range has the same data - but a different coding.
    Code:
Address 55: Xenon Range Labels: 8T0-907-357.clb
       Part No SW: 8H0 907 357 A HW: 8H0 907 357
       Component: AFS 1 H01 0020
       Revision: 00000001 Serial number:
       Coding: 0000020
       Shop #: WSC 06334 000 00000

       Part No: 8K0 941 329
       Component: AFS-Modul links H01 S001

       Part No: 8K0 941 329
       Component: AFS-Modul rechtsH01 S001
    Address 5F: Information Electr. (J794) - with this one I can't help you because I don't have MMI 3G

    EDIT:
You can here see what the "Fault Priority:" stands for: http://www.ross-tech.com/vcds/tour/dtc_screen.html

If "Address 19: CAN Gateway" still has a Fault Priority of 1 after you have tried to erase the fault - you need to contact your dealer, because it is a serious error.

Yes, I also have adaptive lights with auto leveling and LED DRLs - so the coding on the same unit type (same part number), should be the same... but I don't think you have a problem with "Address 55: Xenon Range" because the fault has only been there once on November 3. - it is the same with "Address 5F: Information Electr. (J794)" it has also been there once on November 3.

The fault description from "Address 19: CAN Gateway" is "Control Module Incorrectly Coded" - have you coded anything on this modul??

If not - then read this thread: http://a6retrofit.tripod.com/article...5hybridtv.html

Once the hardware is in place and battery power back on, the car needs to be made aware of the new box. Connect VAG COM/VCDS (see www.ross-tech.com), open controller 19 CAN Gateway, then coding or installation list depending on version and flip TV-Tuner checkbox on and save. This makes the car aware the box is there, although it might show and operate without this setting too. You also need to check and adjust coding for box 57 TV Tuner, see the label help in VAG COM. (If you model or car is different than mine some differences might exist in coding, verify the correct changes you need to make in your particular car before doing any software coding.) Then check for any error codes in VAG COM.
If you erase the faults, then I think Adr. 55 and Adr. 5F will be OK again - and Adr. 19 will be OK after you have coded it correct.

Have you been playing with the "Headlamp converter"?? I thing it should be set to OFF when driving in Greece. (it can be set in MMI)

If you have any issues aftera Vag-com change then the first thing to do is put the settings back to original.

This follows on from Rule No 1 in Vag-Com usage : "Always document what you had before you start playing".

    1) There's a setting in the MMI for the windows.
    2) Only way to turn the "headlight is on" alarm off is to turn the headlight off.

No way to autolock when you walk away. Never had to unlock manually. As soon as I touch the handle it unlocks.

I've had the car done either or. I'm not sure exactly what's correct. Somebody mentioned that if you previously locked the car from the inside (button press, not the speed lock), when you walk away, it will relock itself. But I find this to be only half-accurate.

I just force myself to lock it manually everytime. For safety.

It'd be nice to clarify though, or to activate the auto-lock if it exists.

The handle unlocking is only for people with Advanced Key.

    Re: Cool VAG-COM codes

    Ok so 2 things :
I've done most of the basic Vag mods like blinking DRL, VIM , Windows up down etc.
But there's two things i either can't find how or just don't know how to do.
    A. Keeping the DRL intensity at the same brightness when the headlights are on.
    B. Having a audible beep when unlocking the doors. It obviously does it when i lock the doors and i read something on A6 retrofits that allows it to double beep when unlocking.
I just can't find the actual place to change the setting.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Vag Com on MY2010

Noticed some odities when trying to do some coding. I have a lot of options that don't show installed as in checked off in the settings. I chose to leave them alone since I didn't want to screw my car up. The car knows they are there I know they are there but Vag Com doesn't....

Got a lot working with no issues, Needle Sweep, Lap Timer, Consumption Menu, Video in Motion, Hidden MMI Menu and seat belt chime disable.

Windows Eventually figured out. I could put them up but not down. Then I found that you had to enable them via MMI not just VAG. That piece of information could have saved me 30 mins.

Getting into the hidden menu on the MMI 3G is a pain. Sometimes had to try 2-3 times before it would go in. Now according the instructions you hold down buttons to restart the system.. NOT.. With mine you had to hold them for about 10 seconds then release them. If you just hold them all your going to get is sore fingers.

Couldn't activate the emergency braking but may not have been braking right so will report back on that.

Telephone - 77 doesn't exist... And I do have telephone option on the MMI. Used it dozens of times over the last few days. So I have no idea where you do the language changes and so forth.

Also the DRL on off option on the MMI does nothing. Regardless of where I set it, the lights stay on.

When I tried to read some modules is came back with something like no records or tags or something for the module yet so it looks like Rosstech has some work to do. Perhaps fixing why the options are showing wrong and doing some upgrading on the tags and so forth.

One other thing. 1AS really means no TPMS.. Had to try. Very annoyed to find out I could have ordered it on the car even though it doesn't show as an option. The dealer has a bunch of special order items you can get that Audi doesn't tell you about such as TPMS, heated rear seat, rear sunshade...

Well if anyone figures out how to change the language to English UK instead of English US I'd love to hear about it.

DRL is on all the time possibly because you have a Canadian spec car, as do I. DRL is mandatory in our country.

Thanks for posting the coding. For some unknown reason my DRL where not working in the '0' or Auto setting. The difference was the coding went to 00010111. There was no option that would turn bit 1 to 0. Thank god for your coding so I was able to do it manually. Of course I didn't notice anything wron until daylight because I was doing it at night and the DRL's were coming on with the Headlights.

I'll retry the MMI now. Not that I would want to turn them off.

And it would appear Rosstech has no labels for 5F yet. I have started pulling the labels and adaptation channels. I should have them done tonight. I was coding and experimenting for a while so my laptop battery started to get low. I am pulling anything with a redirect error (there are a few) and no labels. Unfortunately the most interesting ones are missing labels:

    5F Information Electri.
    47 Sound System
    56 Radio

Maybe in the future Rosstech can make their program to build these on the fly from reading the module.

Well it would be nice if they just provided an email address in their program instead of forcing my email program. I had to search for their support address and send them all the missing modules and failed redirects that way. My regular email program on my laptop is a secured VPN email that is for work only.

But I have sent my auto scan and about 5 modules labels and adaptations. Just hope they get it and make use of it. I do feel a but miffed at paying almost $400 for a cable and providing them with the module information though.

If no one gives Ross Tech informations about new or incomplete units, how should they get these informations?? - they could of course buy all supported VAG models in all kind of configurations, each time something changes - NOT

That would be like Microsoft selling an end user a new operating system and saying let us know when you got the operating system working with your mouse, keyboard and monitor. Oh and you have to pay full price.

At least the tuners here offer a discount to those who give up their cars for development.

Instead it's pay full price and give us the information or you wont get to use it. WHATEVER.

When a new model comes out they can simply offer the first person up a discount to run their car. Their staff exist in more than one market so this should be pretty easy to cover. Perhaps a relationship with the local Audi dealer? There are lots of ways this can be done but I guess why change when you can make money off of getting other people to do it for you.

EDIT- Sorry for the Rant, just been a bad day with the aftermarket world in general. I do think they have done great work and I am happy with their product. I just hate it when people think there is nothing wrong with this or think it can't be improved upon. Hell how about a vag come hat? I don't mind helping and submitting. It just urkes me a little that's all.

Can't really help but would like the same answers and willing to poke around. Do you know what module the A6 group found the setting to turn it on or is it that way by default? If we can get the coding from an A6 and the module I'm willing to give it a try. Whats the worst that could happen

    B. Having a audible beep when unlocking the doors. It obviously does it when i lock the doors and i read something on A6 retrofits that allows it to double beep when unlocking.
I just can't find the actual place to change the setting.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    This is for a 2010 S5 Convertible

    Anyone?
I don't know any code for A. - but for B. you need to have Anti-Theft-System installed in your car, and here http://a6retrofit.tripod.com/articles/a5vagcodes.html you can read how to do it (look for the "Enabling/disabling doors locked/alarm armed sound" section)

I think the question is about a tone when the doors are unlocked...
You can enable/disable the doors locked sound through the MMI but when you unlock the car, there is not sound (with other cars there is usually a double beep)

    Re: Cool VAG-COM codes

I just want to add a code I think all Premium Trim owners will like:

Enabling Trip Computer on Premium Trip:
BIG thanks to Cabal_san on AudiWorld for discovering this:

    Check 56-Radio, Byte 9, Bit 6 (Board Settings Active - I believe)

Check 17-Instruments, Byte 1, Bit 2 (DIS Active)

Now in you DIS you should see the miles to empty (I already set it to MPG in pic) with a "1" at the top dividing line (just like P+ and Prestige)

Now on you pseudo MMI, open up the car men. There will be a new entry called instrument cluster or something.

Within you will see setting to enable a speed limit warning (another perk from this mod) and Trip Computer 1 and 2.

Trip computer 1 is for the current journey and trip computer 2 is for the lifetime of the car (I believe, some correct me if I'm wrong)
Within those two menus you will see the displays like Miles to Empty, MPG, ave. MPG, trip time, etc. They are set to "Yes" by default, set all of them to "no"
You can only have one "display" checked between these two menus (because were do not have the toggle wiper stalk)
Whichever value is checked will be displayed on the DIS **> If nothing is checked, it will be blank..

    Av. MPG Set to yes

    Hope this helps! Good luck

btw: My next project is to try to figure out how to enable the Instantaneous Speed display like the P+ and Pres. have...

FYI ** Trip 1 resets if the ignition has been off for more than 2 hrs (I believe) so it is the "current" trip. Trip 2 will not reset unless you do it or perhaps if the battery is removed, etc during service. I use trip 2 for stats for each tank of fuel, not a "lifetime" ** but I have to reset it everytime I fuel up to get that...

Nice to see you premium trim cars have the trip computers ** if you had the control stalk on the steering wheel it would likely be fully functional (maybe even the digital speedometer)

    Re: Cool VAG-COM codes

I've got a B8 S5 and have a few questions. I know they are different cars but they share a lot of the same coding.

    1) Does this mod work on the S5? And what EXACTLY does it do? If it is what I'm thinking then I believe I would like to activate this feature. My buddy has a feature on his car that when he hits the brakes the rear brake lights flash for a few seconds or so and then stay lit. So if this is similar I may have to do this because I believe it is a feature that gets other peoples attention when you need/want it.

    STG 46 - Comfort System
STG Coding -> Long Coding Helper -> Byte 8

Bit 0 – Emergency Brake Flashing via Turn Lights active (1 = active)
Bit 1 – Emergency Brake Flashing via Brake Lights active (1 = active)

    ****************************************************************************************-

    2) I have changed my LED's to stay on when the turn signals are active. I've noticed that the LED's turn off when the fog lights are turned on in the daytime. Is there a way to keep them at full brightness when the fogs are on?

it doesnt happen under normal braking... its an emergency braking thing... you need to be decellerating sharply in order to trigger it.

some euro guy on another forum mentioned he needed to slam on his brakes while doing at least 35mph in order for it to blink.

as I cant be behind my car while braking... I figure wtf and left it on anyways. it doesnt seem to affect regular braking behavior in any way.

Disable automatic rear window wipe on the Avant, when windscreen wipers are active and the car is reversing:

    [Adaptation - 10] -> Channel 19
