So has anyone decyphered how to enable Subwoofer control on the non-MMI non:B&O stereos yet?

    Re: Cool VAG-COM codes

I would like to know this as well, but than for a car with B&O system... As I see with an ASS you have an sub option and with a B&O you don't have a separate sub option.

    Re: Cool VAG-COM codes

My first time posting on this forum. Some of these code edits sounded cool so I decided to head to the dealer to ask for their help (since I don't own the VGACOM).

Long story short...dealer agreed to help but their diagnostic tool is different from the Ross-tech tool (obviously). So one some of the codes that says uses the "long coding helper", I couldn't edit. Since the dealer software, you need to manually enter the binary coding.

So my question is...would anyone be able to use their VGA tool and scan their car and jot down the new binary codes after making the mods?

Specifically for the Remote Windows Down and Gauge Sweep mods.

I found this from Aerodave on A5OC forum and this is exactly the info that would be helpful...the binary codes:
(in reference to the 'winking' leds)

"In cars like mine that "winked" from the factory, this bit is set to 1. (My original coding for Byte 3 was 91 in hex, or 10010001 in binary). Flipping this bit to 0 (in my case, making Byte 3 read 11 in hex, or 00010001 in binary) makes the DRLs stay lit on both sides when signaling. Simple as that."

Sorry for the long post...any help would be appreciated!

With this table http://www.ecawa.asn.au/home/jfuller/binary/binary7.htm you can convert your HEX value to binary - and back.

The first one will always be there, it is only the times between you change. The washer is only activated when headlights are on - and if the light switch is set to "Auto" then each time the lights automatic switch from DRLs to headlights the washers will be activated at every first use.

And it is on Byte 1 you are trying??

Yes, but regardless of the byte selected 4) is completely blank. I think options for Bit 2-3 appeared when Byte 0 was selected. I'll take a pic tomorrow afternoon.

I could actually bypass this if someone gave me the coding to enable needle sweep; I'll just type it in manually. That's what I did for my paddle shifters and they work just fine

The screen dumb isn't from my own A4 - it is just one I found, which showed the 'right' options.

It should be OK to just change bit 0 manually. Bit 0 is the last one in the binary string.

The screen dumb I've found is from a Q5 - my part number for [17 - Instruments] is 8K0 920 930 C, which also has a matching number compered to the one from Q5.

What the difference in the cluster are I don't know - maybe mine is with color DIS and yours are with red/black DIS??

    hello,
i would like to know if it`s possible to activate the right side mirror to tilt down while you are in reverse if the car doesn`t have electric seats ...i have the electric mirrors but they do not fold electronicaly you have to fold them by hand ... can i activate this option via vag com or do you have to have electric seats in order for this to work ...

have tried with vag com the following procedure :

Go to module 52 Door Elect, Pass., Long Coding, Byte 4. If the byte has value 40 (cars without electrically folding mirrors), change it to 4C. If the byte has value 50 (cars with folding or folding/dimming mirrors), change it to 5C

but when i go to module 52 door elect , pass ; coding ; long coding , it does not say mirror tilt or anything , and when i try to change the Byte 4 wich is 41 in my car not 40 it does not work , if i tick the byte 4 check box it changes to 51 and i cannot change that value ...

some help please ? as i have enabled the gauge test and removed the seatbelt chime without a problem but this just doesn`t seem to work ..

Tilted position is saved in the seat memory control unit. Without that it will not tilt on its own. Also mirrors on cars without seat memory, have no sensor to feedback thier position to the module if it was installed, so you would have to install all of these to make it work.

Incorrect. Mine works just fine after a quick VAG to 4C. I have a P- without the seat memory controller, so try it again with another value. You might need to double check that you have the knob turned all the way to the right so when you are in reverse, it tilts.

    yup

you have to have the mirror selector on the passenger mirror for the mirror to tilt down when reversing

I think JSitthi has MMI high (with nav), therefore it is possible in his A4
