Video info says its running 21psi, so that boost and not being tuned I bet its not even making 400whp. Might as well call it a chipped Evo with a stock turbo. lol

Yeah theres definitely something wrong with that evo he shouldnt even be racing it without a tune. A properly tuned GT30r evo should be able to hang. I imagine the gearing difference didnt help either, AUTOBAHN vs RALLY STYLE

    Nice run man.
Here was my response on the video.
"excuses... funny how whenever the opponent's car goes by and the video is almost done, without fail you always hear an excuse... "awww man, I'm running lean" like you didn't know that before the pull. C'mon, now once your tuned, we'll hear something to the effect of "my clutch is slipping" lol. man up bro you lost. We all lose sometimes."

i was talking about pump gas seeing these kids only really go around on the highway, and dont really get on it too much with RaceGas, 25psi would net close to 450-500whp with the ECU, Cams, and most importantly TUNE

Dont underestimate EVO's. Not only do they handle great but a 35'd evo running properly should be just as fast as a SIII S4 (if not faster).

This has got to be the dumbest shit ive seen in a minute.
did this guy decide to look at his wideband for the first time when he decides to run on the freeway? (i think not)
15.3 is dangerous.. i hardly believe he didnt know his car was lean before the run. i hope i see a video of him popping something

Re: Homebrew Stg3 vs. GT35R EVO videoo

You guys seem to know alot about EVO's and I really dont.

I have made a local car club pissed. Their leader has a stock motor evo with a gt30 ( maybe ) turbo. He seems to be the shit talker of the group, so I assume he is tuned and knows his stuff.

I have a Stage 3+ B5 with RS6 Turbos, AWE intercoolers, Vast custom tune, Vast fueling, Southbend Stage 4 clutch, RS4 intake, Vast Downpipes, Borla Exhaust, All fresh maintence, Low Mile motor, all the goods. I run around 26 PSI and should be rolling on around 460ish WHP.

I know nothing about the Mitsu, but my car sure seems fast to me. I think it would outrun my 08 Corvette Z51. From a 30 MPH roll ( right when I make boost in second ) do I stand a chance at all?

We intend to run. I just want to see how much smack I should be talking or not.

    Thanks
    Mike

In reality, there are stock turbo EVO's that could eat up Stage III S4's. There are also 35r EVO's running low 9's and trapping 150 on PUMP. So yeah.

! The best way is to always not talk any smack at all, with a car like the S4 you just understate her all the time.. oh man shes heavy, she really aint that fast.. and then you put the race gas file on for your RS6's...probably should handle him... Then that does the smack talking, your slow shoebox looking car just dismantled him. thats the best feeling, and its not personal at all, the car does all the talking. And they will be bewildered and embarrased that the b5 beat them

Yes my Sn over there is the same as it is on every forum im on. My evo had alot of work done aswell.

I haven't owned my S4 long enough or done enough too it to say its better then the evo, just 2 different cars with 2 different purposes and overall designs.

But, im sure i'll be impressed with the outcome with my S4 in the long run. but thinking about my old 35Evo gives me nothing but a chubby in the pants.

Yes the EVO is a very capable car, the tuner support and R and D support that it has is remarkable, and with that you'll see the limits pushed further each time. But Buschur Racing, ( the shop that made that 35r pass in the nines capable ) is a ridiculous tuner when it comes to AEM EMS and the 4g63 platform. David Burchur is simply the god of Evo 7-9.

I agree that they serve very different purposes. I loved my evo, i was just really sick of riding around in a "race car" all the time. I hated getting hassled by the cops and people thinking i was young stupid kid who liked to drive like an idiot just because of the car i drove.

I loved my S4 when it was stage 3 and cant wait to drive it when this GT build is done, and i would actually love to get a run in with a 35Revo

mmhhmm... i sold the EVO ...cause i had some misfortune with it. Spun a Rod Bearing. So i threw in the towel, parted it out in dissapointment and completely pussied out and bought a G35 It was nice but only lasted a year.

Sorry for Hijacking this thread. I'll make my own!!!

you can hear them saying how lean he was running, not to mention hes running less boost than stock.. i ran 32lbs on a gt35r on my even when it had a stock motor and stock ECU w/ a tune.. made 516awhp and i daily drove it for a few months reliably.
not to mention, evos are TERRIBLE highway cars... once we get to 120 5th gear kicks in and the race is over anything will beat us. run him from a launch when hes tuned :) if he knows how to drive it

the evo owner is an idiot tho... evos are extreamly sensitive to tuning and running a setup like that without a tune is very bad. not to mention for a "built 2.0L motor" if its truly an AMS built 2.0L motor he could reliably run 40lbs daily. before AMS got their ams forged 2.1L motor in their drag car, they ran their 2.0L 4g63 and was running high 8s with the same internals around 51psi

Tuned 35R Evo will easily beat a stage 3 S4
