I should have been done with it this weekend, but a moron (ME) ordered the Clutch for a Non Aluminum flywheel app and I have a Aluminum one!! So I could put the engine in the car. I am done with the braking system, and I am finishing the Seat adaptation Tuesday.
I still have some work but I promise to post some picks tomorrow to show you my progress. Its hard building a car ALONE!!! Even with a shop.

Thanks to Mike at AWE, I got the clutch in today and stayed up late to put the engine. You will see alot more progress in this car know that we have things rolling.
Remmember this was a V6, AUT avant, and we made it STD and 1.8T!! so its been a long trip. Sure I wanted to go VR6 (and still have the engine) but things have not gone my way so is more important to start using it that letting it fester in a corner of my shop..

Next up, Intercooler piping, putting all the accesories, and electric fans..

    pic of the day!!

just the parts to put the engine in the car is close to 2,000. Then you have to find a way to start it up.. another 2000 (or more in the ECU). Then you have to get your turbo stuff on and everythihng else..

My budget on the VR6 was easy 9,000 and I was doing all the labor, and the welding!!

btw I might still do it, having the Passat helps me on the install because I can use it without having to stop the Audi, but is a long term plan.. We already started the car and I am just waiting for a few parts and hoses to get to Puerto Rico. One of the problems are that the hoses and not available in Puerto Rico in black (always in blue), so I called http://www.siliconeintakes.com so I can get the correct color..

I just saw this post. The stock 24v VR6 head flows better than a heavily modified 12v head. Now take a look at the power people are making on 12v heads and ask yourself if there is really an issue there worth worrying about.

Oka guys, we are pushing hard to get the avant out by the 1 of Dicember. I bought a garrett intercooler core because the CFM are correct for the turbocharger I purchase. I talk to chris over @ eurodyne to purchase the harness for the A8 MAF I need to run the 630cc injectors because after the math, the 440cc injectors would be top out with this turbo, so I decided to go a little big bigger!!
I tell you, FINALLY I SEE LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL!!

Some updates.. I hate not having finish this but work, and my free time have being very limited..
I actually finish one segment of the tubing for the intercooler, also the interior is being mounted, boost controller, and the boost gauge with A/F ratio is also being laid out.

Wow, its being 2 years since I started!! Projects just take to damn long
    Blow valve and tubing..

PSI manifold, and 16G turbo, with 3 inch downpipe
The Flowmeter is actually a A8 V8 2001 with harness (needed to run Maestro 5)

Finally Powder black( had them painted last time)

The interior coming together.. I still wainting for the Shifter boot (suede black). Can't wait to use all that JHM stuff!!

The Seats finally in its place.. I am sorry for the guys sitting in the back, ..

In all I still have to finish the Quattro install (from Aut to STD)
Weld the exhaust (3 inch) Is already done, just needs to weld the top to the new downpipe (thanks Jeff)
    A/C (Must in Puerto Rico)
    Downloading the Maestro
Just cleaning and fixing the stuff that breaks after 2 years sitting on my garage
and a bunch of stuff (little stuff) .. It seems like is never going to finnish

I think you mean you ordered a clutch with a unsprung disk vs a sprung disk for a single mass flywheel. The clutch for a aluminum flywheel is the same for a steel flywheel since both are single mass and cut the same.

Just posting that so no one gets confused and things there is a clutch kits for aluminum flywheels and different ones for steel.

    Nice build.
