I will get them eventually.... i dont know about this summer. I have to purchase a 2nd form of transportation before i do anything else to my car. Something always seems to take a lot longer then expected. I hope to have a large chunk of change sitting around by next fall to invest "dump" into my car. im looking into these headers, light weight rotors all around, porsche calipers front and back, and hopefully a motor built for boost... but I am still considering that a dream. Once summer comes around and if i am available to help i definitely will! Let me know.

Probally be easier to just drop the engine out. youll have room to install them and get them back into the car.

you just might find out. don't be surprised if I take you up on that offer.

Its on the site I have proof. LOL I think Im going to definitely drop the motor out. I would rather have more room. Even with the shade tree mechanics that I will have to do. I have slowly been getting better at messing with the move and removal of the motor

So there are 3 or 4 sets of these sold and installed? Gotta get some dyno numbers before I would even consider dropping this much money on a hard to install mod. But if the power is there... so am I =)

I would replace LAZY with smart. you needed to work hard enough to have the money to spend. Paying to have someone do it is a good idea especially if they see these cars every day. lucky for me Ive been helping people with the B6/7 S4's for several months now. My buddy is a audi tech that dose side work I only help when he has a 4.2 or Ill help the other local B6 guys. I almost work for free to I can learn more. But in the end you are the smart one

Yes the motor will have to be removed with the trans or substantially lowered with the cradle.

We have not done enough to find the exact minimum we need to do yet.

We have some more installs coming in soon. Seems like most of the sales have been shipped out so far.

Once we get a couple more installs under the belt I will share any tips or secrets.

So far we have only done cars that had the headers built on the car so the car had to be completely torn down.

I am hoping to find a way to lower the motor just enough to do them. However it may just be a pain to fight with stuff in the way.

Possibly, we have 2 lined up to do soon and now that we don't build the headers on the car any more and they are pre made on a jig we will try to do the minimum. As time goes on we will share this info.

About 10 so far. We have been staying backlogged but are now down to only a 2 or so week wait. We should have it down to less than a week soon.

FYI, we built them to fit both Automatic and Manual Transmission cars with one part. Had some people ask about this.

You won't see a dyno from JHM. you will see that they take the car that ran 13.03 with DPs and they will do no other mods, install the headers and then go back to the track and see what it does.

I'm kind of surprise they haven't done this yet as I'm waiting to see what kind of gains they offer as well before pulling the trigger.

x2 on the dyno. I think the reason the JHM shop car doesn't have headers is possibly because there is still a 2 week waiting period for customer orders; once they start getting through the customer orders then they'll probably make a set for their own car. Also I believe they want to exhaust all the simple bolt-on modification options prior to doing headers.

Due to some people more interested in Drama then results this info got lost.

Here are your Dyno results. 40+ ft-lbs TO THE WHEELS the tq comes in over 1000 rpm sooner and holds for longer. The Hp is about 30hp more AT THE WHEELS and extends past the stock 6200rpm.

The best part is this was an indepent dyno test from a customer not from JHM.

Although Im more interested in the track numbers this is impressive for all the dyno lovers

And for those of you that are wondering about how well this stacks up againsed Dp's

The dp gave 22tq but at the same RPM as normal. All this info is baised off 91oct.

The overall Tq results will be more with better gas. so on 91oct you get 40+ tw to the wheels.

Im sorry, but 2500 for a set of pipes someone spent 40ish hours to work on is a gaft. Wake up people. Thats Retarded for EVEN 40 WHP. (Which sounds like a long shot). Id rather do nothing and leave it stock.

No long shot here champ go look at the Dyno

Thats probably why you own a turbo car. 40whp or Tq for a N/A car is great and concidering the cost of regular Dp's thats a great way to go

40wheel Tq is huge and its not peak Tq that is 40+ to the wheels, 1000rpm sooner threw the better part of the rev range. So its really a good way to go.

Just help put this into 2.7T perspective. your headers still go for 2700$ from AWE even the companys that stole the idea and copyed the headers for the 2.7T were selling them for 2600$ for years and those never made any difference hp or tq wise so you Might want to think about that

Its also not your money to spend! People have given me shit for buying a $50K car when their $20K car gets better gas mileage and serves the same purpose. JHM makes quality products and people on this forum have no problem spending money with them.

Sorry for that... back to the thread... I WANT HEADERS!

    Re: JHM Longtube Header Thread

LOL... Yep, right on man. I would say $2500 is about average on wheels. Before tires. And lots of people I know, I've seen them spend $4K on wheels alone, before tires.

Spending money is all about what is important (based totally on OPINION and personal preference) to the owner of a car. When I bought headers I would have been happy if they made 15 ft/lb torque at the wheels. They are doing a whole lot more than that as proved on an automatic car (more drivetrain loss than a manual). So I think, considering a DP/Catback setup runs at least $3500 new, that the headers are pretty sweet if you are buying exhaust components to make power.

    Re: JHM Longtube Header Thread

5 years ago when I owned my S4 I wanted headers but no one made them yet. Mad props for coming out with them. Also the Kooks headers on the RS4 video is down right sick. I've own'ed a complete KooK's custom headers and their catted x pipe on my last Cobra. All I can say is KooK's knows how to make a car sound amazing with their equal lenght long tubes. Hope more people get these header and other crazy mods with these S4's. Modding a V8 S4's isn't as easy when i comes to tons of aftermarket parts as the b5's thats for sure. Lets see some more videos!!!!
