your assumption is incorrect, the first time i was in a b5 was way back in the year 2000... been in a few more since then, but not by choice.
I could have easily bought a B6 S4, B7 S4, or even an RS6 (With the prices they're pulling today). Some people just prefer how easy it is to make power in the B5 S4. It might be older now but it still looks and performs damn good

Thank you for justifying to me why you bought your old b5 in the b6/b7 forum. The "some people" you refer to that still like the b5 talk about it here: B5 S4/RS4 - Audizine Forums. I am glad you have the 100% opposite opinion about the look of the 9 year old b5, that's what keeps the world spinning. In conclusion, we all could have easily bought a b6 s4, b7 s4, or even an rs6 or we could have bought four (4) old b5 s4's (with the prices they're pulling today).

this thread has already been sidetracked for 4 pages by auditurd2.0t and his assertions that his 380 whp A4 is the greatest Audi on earth.
the modded B5 S4 is a truly awesome beast...but let's not get into another cross platform debate!
p.s. I just found out that Auditurd2.0T is 17 years old. I think I'll never mention him again based on that alone.

Wasn't trying to, I'm never on this section. Just happened to stumble accross this. Saw swanky's statement and decided to defend the B5 a little. He obviously doesnt care. Not even going to take it any further, if I do it'll be in PMs .
On another note I truly am interested on how the RS4 turns out. Saw a vid of the stage 1 VF avant vs a stage 3 b5 and I have to say I am impressed. Can't wait to see what happens with the RS.

He said he pulled like 1/2 a car in each gear so prob had a car to 1.5 cars on him. If that race is so close, imagine what a stage 2 vf car (If VF ever offers an upgrade down the road) would be able to do, let alone the RS4....
The runs were pretty close. I ran that B5 (autospeed) and a yellow b5 that had APR. I had a passenger the silver B5 didn't. He would pull on me about 1/2 a car length every gear. Same out come every time we ran. The yellow B5 had a passenger... we ran 3 times. All were very close. I think he pulled 1/4-1/2 car the first pull, 2nd pull we were dead even, and 3rd pull I was pulling about a 1/2 car but then he had to put the brakes on due to traffic. I think his car was getting a little heat soaked.
No. More so to do with the intake manifold and supercharger bracket, belt length, etc. Keep in mind the VF intake manifold has very long runners and an integrated liquid-to-air intercooler integrated into the mani.
OK, so I looked on both the AWE and VF websites (again). Nothing on the B7 S4 (or RS4 for that matter) SC. I emailed Michael Romano at AWE back in August 2008 and he informed the SC would be shipped in 4-5 months. I have no problem going the 10k (probably closer to 12K installed) for a reported extra 110hp over stock, but the 4.2 V8 is getting long in the tooth now. Its frustrating because I believe soon enough I can just buy and over-boost the 2010 S4 and have about the same hp in addition to having the B8 body style. I love my B7 S4, but the mod's market has been slim and the SC is taking forever. So, that being said, does anyone REALLY know when this will be ready for production?

Swanky, that's probably what I'll end up doing. My last 3 cars have been awd and I can't imagine owning a car without it. All 3 were forced induction as well. The V8 has been rock solid, but it just doesn't put a smile on my face anymore. Actually, I was going to move to the RS4 (which I should have just bought in the first place), but after driving one last week, it just didn't wow me like a couple of years ago. For clarity, before I get flamed, I love the RS4 even the RS6 (2003) and I covet them every time I see one. However, I recently got walked 4 times in a row by a Vishnu 335xi, which prompted the mentioned RS4 test drive, and I'm not sure even the RS4 would have taken it. It made me immediately want my 2003 modded Evo again just to spank his monkey a$$. But, the daily commute in an Evo blows. The SC would be my solution, plus I wouldn't have a car payment again :) I refuse to turn to buying a BMW (which stands for Be-My-Woman) because with every owner I've met the car owns them, they don't own the car. Anyway, I hope someone puts out a SC soon.
In case anyone was wondering what my old cars were:
1990 Nissan 300ZX TT (Last rear wheel drive for me)
1995 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 (should have never sold it)
1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX (fast but fell apart)
2003 Mitsubishi Evolution VIII (Um, fast and a furiously crappy commuter)
2005.5 Audi S4 (by far the most solid and sure footed of all)
You will apreciate the testing when your motor doesn't blow up. It's not easy to boost these motors due to the compression so it Is a delicate process. Don't worry it will be worth it. We waiting 2 years for a GT Turbo Kit, it was 100% worth the wait
2010 Audi S4 DSG Revo Stage 1
2011 Audi A4 2.0T Quattro 6MT APR Stage 2+
1993 Audi UrS4 5MT VEMS
Gone but not forgotten:
2011 Audi A4 2.0T Quattro 6MT Rotiform/H&R
2005 Audi S4 6MT Revo/JHM Bolt Ons 295whp/302wtq
2006 Audi A4 2.0T Quattro AT6 APR Stage 3+ 318whp/268wtq

those cars were extremely advanced technologically and often overlooked... twin turbo, twin intercoolers, active aero package, active suspension, active exhaust, 6spd, awd, all wheel steering, 320hp to name a few...

Def a sweet car for what it was. I had a '91 w/ DR 650 turbos and built heads that put down 409/440 on pump gas. Fun car, but you could feel just how heavy they were taking corners.
