I would consider meth, but it wouldn't likely do much when I'm running 115 octane E85 daily
Meth won't help advance timing with the E85 but ERs and a Meth kit will put your IAT deltas in the negatives.

whats it cost to do something like this after everything is all said and done?
"Clearly, a liger is not as practical as a Katana. S4s can't carry ligers. fucking 500lb cat in my backseat using my alcantara as a scratch post for its HUGE FUCKING CLAWS? I dont' think so bro"
Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and torque is how far you take the wall with you.

For the average consumer buying new and paying near retail, well north of $10k, and well north of $15k if you're including the built longblock and 2.8 heads.
Some new prices off the top of my head for some of the more expensive stuff
ER SMIC's- $1300-1400
RS6 turbos- $3600
Clutch and LWFW- $1400
Rods- $1000
supertech springs/retainers - $750
Inconel exhaust valves- $400-500
Inlets- $400
X-1 intake- $475
Bosch 044 drop-in fuel pump- $425
That's just about $10k right there and that is sorely incomplete, even missing some of the higher dollar items (downpipes, catback, 2.8 heads, motor/tranny mounts, wideband 02, fuel injectors, tune, all of the seals/bearings/bolts/pumps to replace while the engine is dismantled, short shifter, diverter valves and more). Also, that's not including any of the labor, which just for the regular KO4 swap is usually around $2000 (pull engine out, put on new turbos, and put back in). Other additional labor costs are for breaking down and disassembling the engine, hottank/clean/mic stuff and hone if you're replacing rings, balance the rotating assembly ($175-250), valve job and valves install ($600-700+), complete engine reassembly ($$), then bolting on the turbos/etc and reinstalling.
It all adds up for sure. I just don't want anyone to embark on this underestimating the cost (I'm way over budget.) On the other end of the spectrum, if you don't change a single seal or even touch the engine, you could do a base RS6 setup with an OTS tune for about the same as a new KO4 setup + ~$1000-1200 for the turbos + ~$100-200 for an inline fuel pump.
Most of the engine internals and a bunch of other components I got from 034 motorsport, or more specifically Issam on here (except for the rods, I got them from Pete at Integrated Engineering.) So if you need these parts, talk to those guys and they'll get you set up cause they were a pleasure to work with.
I've got some new goodies that I'm super stoked about, but haven't had time yet to take pics. I'll update soon

Agreed. It is ALOT of money. I am also over budget but at this point, so far in that you cant do anything about it.
BTW, from what i have found/been told, the stock intake valves dont like to be revved that high. IDK about you, but i plan to rev my car out to 8-8200. I just went ahead and got new intake valves too. But than again, i had 160k on all my motor parts, so it was also for Peace of Mind knowing all the parts going in are new.
Good luck on your build man, cant want to see the finished product!
I'd be worried about running stiffer springs on the stock intake valves...You're soo deep into this project you should just break down and spend the extra couple hundo so you can rev it out nice and high all day without any worries of a snapped valve. Although it's not really necessary to bump up your rev limiter that high with rs6s since they don't flow well at 8000. good luck with the build

after over $10k invested what the extra $500? Plus, if you ever want to upgrade to GTs you can hit 8400redline all day.

don't remember...I know he built the heads himself though.

i take it either:
(A) it's not common practice in the community to port 2.7 heads OR
(B) it's just cheaper to get 2.8 heads (which would be similar to porting 2.7s).
2.8 heads flow better. There isn't that much room to work the 2.7 heads either

am i close? :)
Yea you are, people then just port match the 2.8 heads. I'm gonna be doing that along with 2.8 cams since I had a 2.8 NA motor prior to my swap which are more aggressive than RS4 cams. You won't see a huge difference with cams unless you go with GTs. Also I the you have to weld shut a few coolant holes on the 2.8 heads as there are more than on the 2.7, I believe. Won't know for sure until I actually get around to that.

2.8 heads have a way bigger intake ports to start with and come with more aggressive cams (almost the same as the RS4 cams). Also, the 2.7 head castings have bigger coolant ports in them, so you can't work them as much as you could 2.8 heads, though people are for sure also running 2.7 heads ported.
thanks for the replies, guys. i have a better idea of what's going on now. i thought i had read somewhere that the 2.7s we got here shared the same heads with the 2.8s - which is clearly not the case. that's pretty much why i was somewhat baffled.
sorry to venture a bit off the focus of your build with this stuff. :) i'm good now though.
Just curious, who told you that? Cause I've never heard anything about the stock intake valves, and I've talked to quite a few people.
Also, my intake valves and heads have less than 60k on them
Trust me, CHANGE THE VALVES to at least stainless.
If you want to keep the stock ones, dont put springs. This is riciepe for diaster.
And you change your lifters too.
You neen to put at least 2k in your heads if not keep the stockers, or take your 2.8 heads an swap everything from your S4's. I really think it's useless tho.
Too hard to say what went wrong in my setup, the 5 valves are broken on cyl #1
So I got these in the other day and I must say I'm impressed with the quality of the machining, packaging, and overall presentation. These look incredible in person, and I can't wait to get them on the car. Looking into one of the holes I see that they came pre-lubed, so it seems eurojet cares about the functionality as well, not just the good looks BTW these are the eurojet "Kugel" DV's http://www.eurojetracing.com/Product...0&Redirected=Y
I'm going to say it before anyone else does. Those look like grenades.. bad ass man post pictures when they are installed. When is the car going to be finished?

Already been said a little ways up And they're made to look like grenades. I'll be hitting the build up more seriously after about April 23rd, I just hope I can get most of the rest of the parts by then.
