Seems the point most are trying to make is, to convert to RWD "correctly" You end up with an S4 shell. Most of the componets in the Quattro would get replaced. To do it right you end up with this:





See with a converison of this order ALL the "factory" mounting points are useless. You have to custom fab everything.

It blows my mind that people believe the only way to convert an AWD platform "right" to a RWD platform is to run a tubed chassis and tubbed rear end.

because its stupid. without a tubbed/tube chassis you will not cut better 60 ft.'s so why waste all the time and money?? Mike2ptsero has vids around of 1.5-1.6 60's and that awd. you will not cut better than that without huge slicks on a th400 like you said

...... it's stupid if your searching for 60 foot's.

I'm not looking for 1/4's, I'm looking for trap speeds, 60-120 times and the texas mile. 0-60 doesn't really interest me. The domestic guys will always destroy you out of the hole anyways

Believe me I've thought about it ALOT but it's been done before and taza really has pushed the limits so I wouldn't be breaking any new ground or building something that would really surprise anyone. Making a sleeper wagon seems so much more interesting

EVO's with stock frame turbos don't seem to have a problem hitting 1.3 60's with their AWD.

Believe me I've thought about it ALOT but it's been done before and taza really has pushed the limits so I wouldn't be breaking any new ground or building something that would really surprise anyone. Making a sleeper wagon seems so much more interesting

i agree it would be nice but when your talking huge power levels i still think you would want awd more for 60-120. i mean especially if you want a sleeper. i hate mustangs and think that they are over-rated but when i see a mustang with a 10" rear tire i have respect. if you want a sleep you dont want 10-11" slicks out back cus its not a sleeper.

if you want to be groundbreaking go ahead. but awd is better than people think up top. i'm stg I and i hit 160 (163 to be exact lol) easily and i couldnt tell the "awd downside" of top end accl.
