I just installed led bulbs for my drl with 6ohm 50watts resistors and it does not throw any bulbs out codes. I also installed led city bulbs and license plate bulbs with 25ohm 25watts with no codes.
License Plate
Installing the resistors you will need to tap the brown and grayish purple looking wire. its pretty simple. I mounted my resistors right under the trunk latch with 2 wire tie/strap. If you look you can see the black straps on each sides of the resistors holding it down to the trunk door. When you remove the cover off the trunk door, it will be a lot easier to see where i mounted it.
Hi. Looks very nice.
I have one question though, if you would look at your light turn knob (located to the left of the steering wheel) does the red dot that indicates where it's pointed at blink (at night, or when it's dark) or flicker or even go out???
When I did this mod it died on me and the dealership got me a new one, and I killed the project...
Hope this was just a one thing, that happened to me.
Best regards

Audi A4 B7 DTM Quattro
Sprintblau...
Carbonio, carbon enginecover, carbon washerfluid cover, Debadged, Black grille, black trim...
thanks man appreciate the help over pm
my led drls were sitting there driving me crazy, the bulb out warning was too annoying.
heres a couple of pictures of mine, on the close up the city light was out. those are next to go LED. i have adaptive bi-xenons, and color dis as well, got to try to pick resistors tomorrow and give this a shot, i had used a 10 ohm 25 watt with no success.

what resistor did you use and how did you set it up? and how long before your switch broke? i might give this a try while i'm still under factory warranty (@47k now)

do you have a link to where you got your resistors?
i know fry's by my house has the ceramic bar like ones for a buck, but some kits i've seen have heat sinks on them, and are alot more $$ when i can wire stuff myself with wire taps.

im pretty sure the ones at fry would work all along its 6ohm with 50 watts and is wirewound resistors
If you going to order just the resistors online I think v-leds on ebay have the best deal.
The resistor is only 10 dollars shipped..CLICK HERE
I installed some smoked L.E.D taillights and am having a sensor problem. I was told to use 75 ohm resistors and they gave me no other details. Ive tryed 5, 10,and 20 watt/75 ohm resistors and my sensor keeps chiming at night thinking my lights are burnt out. Do you know anything else about how to cure this problem?

well 75ohm resistors will produce the same amount of resistants no matter how many watts you have. you might have to get a differnet ohm resistor. try a lower ohm resistor. one on each side.

Playing with the resistors wattage will not cure your problem you need to change the resistance. Do you know the draw in volts or mvolts of your LED?
I could search this, but I'll ask anyway. How does one go about changing the city light bulbs? Is it as easy as pulling the bulb out from the back of the housing?

Yep. On our Ziza City Light, you simply pull out the old and the new sits in the housing. There was a technical DIY floating around a couple months ago, but its quite simple: These city lights fit in the same location as stock. You simply pull the OEM lights out and put these in. The inline resistors handle the bulb out warnings on non-color DIS cars.
plokm, what lip are you running? and where can you get that?

Pat - I think David and I scared the only girl to venture here away. She's butt hurt!.........I wish I could say I made her that way....
I did check already
Both housing diameter are almost the same (checked with Catia software, not physically). The main issue is not the LED but to find the A8 chrome housing

Chris,
I have a color display and the Ziza City Lights DO NOT throw codes. Guess Im lucky, but there hasn't seemed to have been any issues with them. Great product.

Hey thanks for the feedback! The City lights seem to be hit or miss on color DIS displays cars, which is why we post the warning and accept returns, so I 'm glad yours works!!
