Nice, Ted. What's on the rear? don't forget balance is more important than size.

I'm heading out to AZ in the morning. When I get back, I believe there is an Ice event on Sat. Feb 11th.

Anyone else thinking of going this year?

So far on the rear, the brakes are still stock. I bought the upgrade for the front because the original kit assembler told me it was pretty well matched to the rears. Once I get this all buttoned up, I will probably grab the 034 rear "big brake upgrade" that uses b7 S4 rotors, and the stock calipers, it just has those brackets that allow bigger rotors. That should probably be good. If we have snow or Ice around, I am down to try to make the ice event.

Rear brakes? Those should be super easy, are you at all mechanically inclined?

I am but I heard that since it has the electronic parking brake that it needs to be done with some software tool so it can retract the picton?

I thought it was at state fair park. Milwaukee Track Days event. I would just do it with my daily, but I would also like snow.

Yes, you need VCDS to retract the pistons. I did it myself but I have VCDS HEX+CAN

No, it is on a lake, hence the term "Ice" event vs "Winter driving".

    It's on Lake Sinissippi.

    Hi everyone

I'm new to the area, I'm originally from England and now live in oconomowoc

I drive a 14 Q5 Only mods are wheels at the moment

I had a couple questions I was looking for some help with getting some things done

    1) my alloys got badly kerbed by a valet in Chicago last month. Does anyone know a good place to get them either refinished or powder coated?
    2) I also now from said valet have some minor front bumper damage, can anyone recommend a good body shop who would be able to fix it?
    3) I'm looking for a good detail place to get my car detailed in spring.. Recommendations would be great

    Cheers

    1) This is the guy that International Autos uses for wheel repair. He has a van and does it on site regularly.
    http://www.awrswheelrepair.com/milwaukee

    2) As with above, these are the guys the dealer used to use and I know the boys. Good guys and quality work for a reasonable price.

    3) Several of us use Yoosef at CMG Detailing. In fact, he has been digging the Audis so much, he went and got an A5 a couple years ago and is now considering an A7 too. Great guy and quality work. My car will be in there in Spring for a correction and seal.

I agree. Big Bear Tire will be setting up the RS5 with the new wheel/tire/suspension early summer. I've used them in the past. Well worth the drive.

Ended up not going either. My car started misfiring on the way to work on Friday unexpectedly. I had hoped it would clear out after shutting down for a bit but after work it was still there.

I hadn't opened the hood for a while. After looking at the wiring on top of the heads, I noticed some bird seed. We have bird seed in the garage that the plastic container broke open and the animals clearly are looking for a free meal. Well, it seems like they are treating the top of my engine as a sauna too. I'll have to take care of that in it self. For now, I ended up cleaning up the engine bay and just generally pushing on all the connectors and coil packs. Then when starting the car to head to the auto store for some spark plugs, there was no more miss. I drove around a bit and nothing has returned. I'm going to change my plugs with OEM NGKs anyway as I haven't done that since buying the car. I'll put those in when they show up. For now, I also took the opportunity and did an oil change using my MityVac pump. Makes the job a breeze and clean.

Anyway, I wasn't certain on the event with the recent warm temps. I hope to go next year instead.

Long time no post. Hope everyone is doing good.

But I was wondering if anyone knew of a good shop to have axles replaced? If not, I would have to replace them myself with raxles. Or if someone is looking for extra $$$$, I'll pay you to have the raxles installed.

    Thanks.

Hey, Leng. Good to hear from you.

Not super complicated to do but getting the axles out of the hub end can be troublesome. If you need the triple squares for a DIY, let me know and you can borrow them. Otherwise, most shops should be able to handle that. OEM or Raxles for sure.

    Thanks.
I just so happen to have a mint set of front axels from Adam's Casa 6-speed. They've been on my shelf for a few years and we're going up for sale soon anyways. Save some $ and get a deal. PM or text me bud.

Hey everyone! I'm new to the group, been awaiting my opportunity to buy an Audi (still have yet to), but i just figured I'd join the group, get some info on some of the Audi's that peak my interest and offer my services to everyone in my area. I work at a shop in the Fox Valley area. The work I offer at my place of employment ranges from basic routine maintenance to slight custom fabrication and performance upgrades at a fair rate (much lower than what a dealership charges for their routine work). If you have any work that you are looking to get done on your Audi, feel free to contact me. Thanks!

Thanks Brady but the axles are for the RS6 and not the S4. Not sure if they are going to work with the RS6. :)

Also, thanks for the offer to use the triple squares Phil but I got a set as well.

Basically I just don't have the time right now to replace them and was wondering if anyone knew of a shop they use or someone they use for their maintenance (if they don't feel like doing it themselves).

My guy Nick (RIP) is no longer with us or he would've been the first one I called.

    Thanks.

Hey drifters, EPG (Frank) has an employee now, and is doing a lot more maintenance, I think he really knows his stuff and is quite reasonable, I would try him. Also, I have seen your RS6 on bluemound road sometimes, always a head turner, cause you never see those cars.

Franks is a good guy. He did a downpipe on my Jetta and APR tune on my Touareg.

Thanks. By the way, I keep hearing of Frank but just really haven't had the need to use him yet. Maybe this is the time to use him for some maintenance work. Where is he located?

He's out in Hartland, off of VV. and a little west of Dorn Road. I dont think he has a website, but look him up on facebook. The page is European Performance Group.

I also use Frank for my APR support and wouldn't hesitate for some maintenance.

    His website is:
    http://epgtuned.com/

Address: W300N7784 Christine Ln, Hartland, WI 53029
Just north of VV on the East side of the road.

Slow heart beat still present here but we officially are losing our buddy Neil, at least as an Audi owner. You all should know he going to sell his rather special C5S6. If anyone is looking, keep an eye out for his FS ad and pass it on.

    Hello

    I have a silver q5 with RS5 replica wheels.

Question - does anyone in the area have a Q/SQ WITH APR tune? I'm looking into getting it done this year

    Cheers

I am from Illinois group but I thought I would share the info below for the 2017 WCD since I'm sure some folks are close to Illinois/Wisconsin border.

A6 with stg2 3.0T here. What do you want to know? APR is pretty well documented as far as real world gains. My car ran a 12.5@111mph at Union Grove. Only ran 4 times and might have been able to go slightly quicker. Literally no performance mods except the tune and pulley. It's not the fastest thing on the street but it moves pretty good considering.

PK, are you going to go with the new dual pulley setup?

Yes, once it is available. As of now, you can't buy it for the C7. I called APR last week. I may look into a cooling system afterwards depending on temps I see. I don't think it will be mandatory with the dual pulley with the lower revs due to the ZF. Also, I don't track this pig so it's not going to see long periods of acceleration so I think it will be fine. Now, ask me if I'm going to spend the $1600 on the UltraCharger and I may have a different reply.

I'll skip that for now. I don't need every possible Hp but if I can get 30+ more for $400 and an hour or two of my time, I'm all for it.

In other news, enjoy the Quattro weather out there today. My car is a snowplow at this ride height. It sure handles the weather though. iPhone Pic.
