As many of you know, I've been struggling trying to figure out why the hell my car is running like complete ASS. After countless pressure testing (never a leak), triple checking all my connections, scanning codes and replacing the sensors that come up as a code (only the MAP, but replaced the N75 as well), the car STILL runs like absolute shit around 10inhg and spikes at random psi's. So today I drove up with my Dad to Raven Motorsports to pop in my new 550s and get a free upgrade to the 550 file hoping this will end my hassles. Before we start on that, we talked about the hesitation/bucking issue I've been having. So Matt from Raven begins snooping around my bay looking for the obvious, everything looks ok. We scan for codes and obviously the MAP code pops up and I tell him that the code has been popping up for quite some time even after putting a brand new MAP sensor in. So he whips out VAG-COM, checks the reading for the MAP sensor and with the car OFF it's reading 2500mbar....WTF? how is this possible. So he gets his voltage reader and puts it to the harness plug and it struggles to read 5 volts...hmm. We go upstairs to his office and chat while he looks up the wiring harness schematic on his computer and reads about what could be causing this. We go back down to put the voltage reader in two other locations that could lead to a discovery of why it cannot produce any voltage. Before he checks the two other locations, he decides to pull the rubber boot off the back of the harness plug to reveal a severed ground wire that NO ONE was expecting!!!! WWWWWWWOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWW, for the past 'I don't even wanna know how many' months this has been going on, it was as simple as a severed ground wire.

. Luckily he had a full wiring harness out of a 1.8T that was boxed up, never to be used again. So we snipped off the MAP plug, spliced it onto my wiring harness, plugged it back in and oh my gosh, it was finally healed. Just like that, my motor has never felt so smooth. We popped the 550s in, but the 550 file for my VIN wasn't available at Raven. So Brandon @ Raven called up REVO to have them send the file over and apparently REVO's server is down for the weekend. They will have the file on monday, so I'll head back over to their shop on wednesday to get reflashed. The 550's run awesome with my current software though. Cleaned up the idle a ton.
The guys at Raven Motorsports are awesome! Jeff Lee made a guest appearance as well. The PSi manifold looks AMAZING!
And the reason I think the problem was intermittent was because the severed wire was occasionally making contact with it's counterpart. man the ecu must have hated that. lol.
