    Well, today was opening day for the build. Worked from 6pm-9pm and got as far as the pictures show.













    Progress...

    where she will be couped up for a few weeks.



















    not too happy to see this vvvvv bent blade, but hasnt affected my boost at all. still holds requested.

    Good deal! What turbocharger are you going with?

    I suggest you move that rug. It'll get filthy in its original location.

    That is just the tip of many blades in there. Shouldn't be too bad but you're definitely losing performance since the aerodynamics are sub-par. Sorry to say but it'll hurt resale.

    glad to see it kyle! my advice -- go with ATLEAST a full-frame turbo. as long as it's not an eliminator you should be making some pretty good power.

    excited to see where this goes! good luck with everything, there are plenty of people here who've been through this - so make sure that you benefit from their knowledge and mistakes.

    Thanks guys! its gonna be fun, but a task none the less.

    no aeb head yet, not until the turbo gets upgraded.

    machine work will be done by a guy near me.

    the GTRS will stay for a little, but the reason for the build is to eventually move up to a 3076r setup.

    to doug: haha, the rug i really dont care about, my drums usually sit on them, but they got moved into the house. btw, the rug got its fair share of a little coolant already.
    and the bent blade will probably be noticeable once i start cranking more psi out of it. i probably will just end up keeping the GTRS when it gets replaced with the 3076 just to have, plus its worth maybe a dollar.

    That is a good plan. Work in stages pending funding. Have an overall plan in place prior to starting. Things should go fine from there.

    ME7 can adapt fine with the bigger displacement. You can run a 2.0L with a 3071R on REVO software or other GT28series software. Will it be optimum? NO. Will you get maximum power out of that software? NO.

    The crux of the equation right now is that the software is lagging the hardware configurations of anything large than a GT28series turbo on our vehicles.

    If you run a GT28series software be prepared to log the shit out of your car and make tweaks as necessary. This is how Jordan (CO AVANT) has been able to optimize his configuration (2.0L GT2871R 3651cams REVO BT software). He even admits things could be better with major software adjustments. Something the car owner can not do on their own.

    Even I had to make adjustments to my ASP Gt28RS software in order to get my 2.0L 2871R to run safely. Is mine optimized? No way in hell. That is why it is getting completely rewritten (ie: custom tune).

    Thing is even with "8:9:1" cut pistons I still put out WAY more compression than a stock B6 would up here. The cylinder volume and decking of the engine alone raises true mech compression. I run 14-17 deg less timing advance on 104oct with the 2008cc motor than I did with the stock 1.8 motor with gtrs on 104oct.

    Is that the "complete solution" kit from Eurospec? If so, check what rod bearings you have and let me know.

    Make sure you turn turn down the boost other wise that GT28r will end up feeling like a K03/K04 peaking around 5500 rpm.

    I feel your pain man! I will be 26 this saturday and I still have one of my grandmothers giving me shit everytime I do something to my car. I got so pissed the last time I didnt talk to her for like 2 weeks. "Why do you spend all that money on your car," "you should just leave it alone."

    I told her it is my damn money and I like doing it so that is all the reason I need. She hung up on me and we didnt talk for like 2 weeks after that. She called but I didnt answer. We are talking again now but she has changed her tone for now atleast.

    Pratt & Whitney. Hamilton is under the big umbrella of United Technologies whom P&W is also a part of.

    Hoist & Stand are key to make things easier. I borrowed my friend's hoist (he uses it to cart around his 1 to 2 ton full size Chevy axles) and bought a stand from Harbor Freight for $30.

    I have yet to buy rod bearings. recommendations?

    I don't deal much with the externals and things that Hamilton designs. I design the core parts (turbine blades and vanes) internal to the engines.
