Not really an Avant-specific picture, but it does contain Avant material...taken last weekend between Ventura and Santa Barbara. Nice little south swell.

which size thule fairing are you using? Got any front pictures? I have a medium and it seems to be a tad to big for my 2008 A4 Avant. Might have to go out and purchase a smaller one... another question, is yours loud?

Damn, thats a bummer! The dealership did the same thing with my bike, I even asked if they wanted it off the roof (I used to work at a bike shop and saw that all the time) They said no- Long story short: they assumed full responsibility, cut me a check for the bike and did a bunch of future work for free.
haven't added any content recently:
I drive an avant so I can put 8 Penn Internationals in the trunk:

11' 2" 228lbs. Fought it for just under 2 hours on the 50. Got plenty of steaks if you'd like some. The minute my rods touch dry land they get a nice fresh water bath.

would love some steaks good eatin! yeah you do have to wash them down. i used to have a storage unit filled with fresh and saltwater tackle. but i never paid the bill for it and the took it all and auctioned it off for the money i owed. i spent more time in the bar drinking so never paid the bill
I had all shimano reels and st.croix rods! a few penn tuna sticks too! god i wish i had all that gear now. havent been out on the ocean in like 5 years now.
bring some fish up to the tri-state avant gtg coming up!

Sorry for the late answer. If my memory serve me well, it's a 32" fairing. I bought it for our 2005 subaru impreza wagon. I didn't buy another one for the avant because the rack is always on the audi and this one fit right there. I don't know if the 38" fairing fit but the 32" really reduce the wind noise of the bars. Defenitly recommend it.

So you can haul your snow tires in the back, and still have room where the back seats fold down. Avants are just win.

Needless to say-I'm shocked. Its great to see Avant owners who are passionate about the practicality and aesthetics. That said, I thought I'd w*ore a bit.
I know I'm missing my tow hook cover somehow lost it?

Re: Why drive an avant?? (pics required)
great thread. For me it is a no brainer. Activities I am involved in include:
band (drummer and keyboard player) hauling gear several times weekly to gigs and rehearsals
bikes - normally carry inside, I ride 2-4 times per week
dog - 85lb male lab
skiing
And that's just the regular use. I'd say my seats are down more than up...
