Here's a few different pics of why I went with the avant. As you can see below, my avant plays an integral role in many facets of my life, including work and home-life. For instance, my avant:

1. Allows me to spend time with my kids (note, the luggage guard even helps save money on child seats since she's pretty secure and contained back there);

2. Helps me with "delivery" duties at work (I can carry so many more kilos than those guys/girls in the sedans);

3. Helps me with "disposal" duties at work (note the benefit again of the contained area); and

4. My friends and I really like spicy food, so we need a lot of toilet paper (industrial size only).

Nice, I also DJ and the ability to haul gear was one of my primary considerations in buying the avant. Next time I have to load all my gear (which is hardly ever now that I'm back in NYC working) I'll definitely take photos.

im going to get one just because i love avants not to haul stuff around...but prob gonna end up doin that anyway, had 2 sedans already....want an avant...my girlfriend thinks im freekin nuts cuz everytime i see a hooked up avant i drool. lol she doesnt get it.

Be glad she doesn't get it... and only a few are enlightened. Otherwise there would be ghetto'd out and ricey wagons all over. I prefer that wagons on the road are either bone stock or tastefully modified... like now. It's rare to see a shitty avant.

I definitely dont understand why people dont like them though. Its like a mini SUV with good gas efficiency and not all jacked up. Boggles my mind.

Trip was from West Palm Beach, FL to Reno, NV. Took 4 days, 3 nights. I was following my buddy who was in a truck towing a car, so didn't make too good of time, except the last day where I went 1050 miles in 14.5 hours. Not sure how much gas, was averaging about 21-23mpg so not too bad fully loaded! Didn't really have much time to stop anywhere cool, did cruise through Graceland and over the Hoover dam which was pretty cool. Only thing about the trip that sucked was the cruise didn't work! Yea my foot was dead by the time I got home. Oh and its just a cheap Mossburg 12 guage wal-mart special, but it gets the job done

Yeah the B6/B7 S4 is a notable exception to good efficiency. If you're getting 10mpg you must at least be having a hell of time rippin around town! The H2 gets that just bumbling along while crushing other cars beneath its giant wake of pollution and excess.

I hate hummers, H1, H2, H3, all of them. And pickup trucks with tonneau covers over the beds (i.e. the owners never use them and work in an office, not a farm). They epitomize everything that is wrong with the american attitude toward the environment and wastefulness.

Because what other car makes you have to take a picture of it even though you've already got lots of pictures of it just when you're walking towards it while it's parked on the street
