couple of authorized Recaro dealers that advertise here, I'd try them first. Not as cheap as you might think. With leather and heat elements the S4 style seats run about 1500 each, then you have to add in cost of brackets and sliders plus shipping.
im assuming that you can predict the future and know which cars hold value best when they're released? oh, and that whole bit about value AND performance? well there went your whole theory -- some of us can't spend over 30k (mods included) on a car.... i've got a mild amount of luxury, and more performance than just about any other stock audi for less than a (still) new b7 would cost me...
and since when is maint. cheap on any of our cars anyways? atleast i know how to work on my 1.8 though - good luck with a 4.2
Yeah, but what happens when you or someone else totals your ride in an accident and the ins. company will only cover the Fair market value of your B6 A4 @ $10K?? Sure you could get additional insurance to cover the after market mods, but are they really going to give you $50K? This guy went into debt for something that could come back to bite him in the end, I see people do it to their houses all of the time. He should have bought a used RS4 for $50K, or even better, he should have bought an S4 for $30K and still had better performance and value.
i have everything in black besides the dash board. I will need to buy one when I have money. right I seriously don't. If I have money I need to pay my man and my bills.
but don't worry, I will not leave the dash grey
Instead of replacing the lower dash, you can use some vinyl dye made just for changing colors. There is a online outfit that sells the professional grade dyes and they have an Audi color matched dye available. I don't remember the name now, but I will find out.

i just finished all my mid-term exams. I can't spend hours and hours on modding the car. I need to study and keep my social life.
a few pictures will be up tonight for sure! I promise

You paid close to five figures for your interior? No offense, but that's the dumbest thing I've heard in a long time. If you had shopped around a bit, you could have done what I did, and pieced together a full interior, with custom alcantara headliner, RS4 and S4 carbon fiber trim, MKII steering wheel and shift knob, etc., for mid-four figures. And I definitely spent a lot of money, but still got everything at least a few hundred cheaper per item than I have seen them priced since. I hate to make you feel dumb, but if you paid more than around $4k for that complete interior, you got robbed. What did shipping cost you?
EDIT: Shit, for $10k, you probably could have bought a wrecked S4, parted it out, kept most of the interior, and used the profit to buy RS4 front seats, plus still wound up spending a hell of a lot less, and you would have also had a lot of extra bits and pieces as spares or selling fodder.
well i dont feel dumb at all.
there is one advertiser selling a complete set of seats for $6500 or something. that's just seats!!!
you did not factor in shipping, custom fees when they arrive, the other pieces I got.
well you are in England now, that's a different story than me being in the US.
you can buy things cheaper than me because you dont pay as much shipping.
I am not sure what currency your salary comes in with, if you earn pounds there, that's even better.

$40,000 in debt. Without factoring interest. In order to pay it off in 3.5 years. Your paying roughly $1000 every month. Unless your counting your chickens before they hatch, I find that INSANE. Add in an insurance payment and gas, WOW. I don't see how a part time worker can afford this. I would of shampooed the carpet and saved the 10k. Sure life's not about always doing the right thing. But screw the weight on my shoulders of 40k debt. To each his own. Flame me if you want IDC.
The vinyl dye I used is called SEM Colourcoat. Not sure if this is what anyone else used, but it works great. My entire dash is originally tan, and now dyed black. It's been that way for over six months now, and I have no scratches or any signs of wear.
