It's probably carbon buildup....

I had carbon build up on the intake valves and it caused cylinders 3 and 6 to misfire during cold start at 90K miles. Cost me $800 for the dealership to clean. Also, feul injector was bad. I didn't have the expertise or know how to do it myself.

Just curious what you are looking to get out of a new exhaust besides being alot louder. I love the sound of the stock 3.2L and it does not drone at hwy speeds. I get the 2.0 guys wanting a different exhaust but not us. B6, B7 S4s are going to sound different/better because of the V8 engine, not necessarily the exhaust.

I would like to hear the results of the installation of the setup he bought so I don't go and drop a grand and find out it's too loud. I agree with you that the B7 A4 3.2 sounds quite exceptional and I understand that it's not going to sound like an S4 just because I buy an exhaust made for an S4; however, I wouldn't mind seeing/hearing his results. Also, I'm not really interested in it for big hp gains or I would've bought a 2.0T .
On another note, how much of a difference does the larger RS4 rear sway bar make?? I wouldn't mind doing that myself!
-
Sorry for not posting the sound clip I haven't had time but I'll get right on it tomorrow! For your surprise it is not that loud! Only if u needed to be(height throttle encrees.

I maybe coming back to audi after almost a 2 year hiatus. I sold my b7 s4 6mt when my wife and I were expecting our first child to get a honda pilot suv. It's time for another vehicle and I have a chance to pick up a blue 2007 b7 A4 3.2 tip Sline avant and I might just pull the trigger.

Well rai numbers didn't make sense considering a b7 a4 3.2 stock dynos at 215 awhp and something torque and their numbers are way under with adding a dp and a unitronic so if rai motorsports can explain a lil more if that was a 3.0 or wat but as far as I know adding a cold air a intake and doing a custom full exhaust which may be our best option you can see from the one guys video post that he had I believe just a cai and he was running 224awhp or so without a tune or if u can verify more on ur dyno please for us. Also right now I am running a cai and so far got the back set res deleted running 2.25 piping from where those where to v flow vforce mufflers which I think sounds amazing love the v6 can't wait for the rest to get done there's vids on YouTube of me in bc mountains if anyone wants to check out wat it sounds like. I am looking into turbo or supercharger nice to know that pes 3.0 will work for us 3.2 guys but also want to know about upgrading injectors cams intake manifold and headers as another route if staying n/a

upgrading injectors cams intake manifold and headers as another route if staying n/a
There is absolutely nothing of the sort as far as those mods go. Our motors are direct injection, so we really have no need to upgrade our injectors. No company makes upgraded manifolds, headers, or cams for this motor. Us 3.2 owners are screwed unless you want to pay the money for a custom turbo kit or a custom set of downpipes.

I wouldn't do any kind of FI on our motors because of its ridiculously high compression.

Enjoying the simplicity. I have to change the right bank valve cover gasket. Anyone notice theirs leaking too

Ok so my question then to RaI motorsports is wat went wrong y. No longer sell something when you have all this demand.
Also on another note has anyone tried any other tune other than unitronic as I'm looking to get the Upsolute 275hp for 400 or the speedtuning 280hp for 700 I think it was. Or possibly just hitting up the awd dyno tuning here in calgary ab canada

What happened with RAI is that the gains they saw on the post-dyno, were not worth the time it takes to develop more downpipes. I believe they gained around 9 horsepower at all four wheels which sucks. I believe the issue was that they were stil using the stock catback, so even though they installed catless downpipes, the exhaust system could only flow as much as the stock catback would allow. Not to mention that they used the Unitronic stage 1 file to eliminate any check engine light and that tune kind of...sucks..for lack of a better word. With downpipes, a catback, and a custom tune, our cars would probably see some impressive gains. As far as the other tunes that you've listed, i don't think anyone in this country have any experience using them on the 3.2. In fact, very few people i can think of even use the unitronic tune.

Well I think a solution could be than to create a full exhaust system and sell that as the cat back and for us that have the exhaust already sell the dp seperately at least Rai would be the only ones to sell a dp for us b7 3.2l its better than nothing

Hi folks, here's my Black 3.2 ;)
I haven't done anything major, upgrades include:
- Dension GW 100
- tinted windows
- Hawk HPS Brakes all around (did that today)
- Ziza interior LED's (did that last week)
I need to replace my front right spring as it is cracked. Next upgrade, springs vs coilovers :)

right i think adding a full exhaust would be a good idea to do first. Then note the changes. Then add the downpipes. then note changes. Then tune it all up. Then note the changes. Doing dyno testing and timed street pulls from lets say 40-80mph while staying in 3rd gear and repeat same process using 2nd & 3rd gear.

We did not give up on the 3.2 platform, we just dont have the resources to make the stuff the way we want. The power output was lower than we wanted, and the price to build them would be higher than we would want.
Never forget we are a custom fab shop first and foremost. Anyone can bring their car to us for a build, the ball is back in your court 3.2 guys... somebody needs to step to do a project.

Hello everyone, just joined this group and I'm really liking the community of fellow b7 3.2s, I never see any 3.2s around my area.
Near future yields
-replace grille plate holder with plate filler
-swap out orange reflectors for clear
-spacers to flush the wheels with wells, tire size is 235 (thinking 10mm for front and 17.5mm for rear)
--Cant decide if I want the RS4 rear sway for $130 or 034 motorsport rear sway for $165 which is supposed to be an upgrade to the RS4 rear sway but is it worth it?
Far future includes wider wheels, s4 rear diffuser and possibly http://www.awe-tuning.com/products/a...ar_category=83 Touring addition.
Anyone have any opinions on the rear anti sway bar? There is a group buy going on now, that's why I am interested.

So found out after speaking with Audi specialist and our cars have such little back pressure with the stock cats/dps that it's not worth the money to spend for the 1-3hp gain but better off by upgrading the the rest of the exhaust to 2.25" so I got them to cut right after the last o2 sensor behind the cat and got everything 2.25 with a x pipe and a set of high flow cats that were actually 2.5" so really high flow lol then goes all the way to a set of v force mufflers and there's a deep throaty tone to it sounds really good. Noticed quite the power response I'm taking it on the track next Friday stock I did 16.1 fastest so I'm thinking should 've able to get to run a 15.6 I hope. Then sometime when warranty is up a tune

As goes the rear anti sway bar do the 29mm race rs4 so worth it remember to upgrade the endlinks and ensure to have extras. Lol but I love it and really want a set of rollovers any ideas on which set I should buy I want adjustable in lowering and dampening

i think everyone is at the mercy of the exhaust collector size. you can only push so much air through the crappy exhaust manifold design. Tell that Audi specialist thanks for the highly restrictive manifold. Then ask him to think of a header design that would benefit us.

Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to say what's up and show some love to my fellow 3.2 owners. I have had my '08 Dolphin Gray 3.2 for about a year now and I have loved it every second. The car is still stock reason being that the better part of that year of ownership has been spent saving for and planning a wedding. Now that I have the wedding in my rear view, hopefully I can start getting some mods.

Congrats on getting married. By mods I hope you mean aesthetic as there are no performance mods out there really for the 3.2(yet ).

Yeah definitely cosmetic, wheels, lights, tint, etc... but also the basic mods available, ie: RS4 sway bar, exhaust, maybe coils down the road but the car already came with the s-line suspension (although not full s-line) and I already like the height and the ride. I bought the car knowing there wasn't much out there for mods, but I wanted a car I didn't have to do much work to and still have fun driving. It leaves just enough room to make it my own.

Yeah same here. I don't care much for performance mods since the V6 is smooth and has plenty of power for me. Plus, even if I wanted to, my wife would never let me dish money out on modding it.

Agreed on both accounts. Now that the wedding is in my rear view, I have a new hurdle to overcome... the wife. lol.
