i got the stock 17" rims on my car right now.. looking to upgrade.. how big can i get the rims without having to roll the side fenders? i know this question doesnt only apply to 3.2 but we are a small breed :D
Re-visiting this thread. Anyone still interested in 3.2 parts? I think we can get a stage 2 type setup with a tune and downpipes together if someone is willing to come in

Question for you guys, I have been having an intermittent rough idle issue on my 3.2 (65k miles) It seems to happen after the car is running for at least 5 minutes. If it starts I can put it in neutral and bring it right back to drive and it goes away for at least that stop. Doesn't seem to be temperature related either. I can't find any consistency to it either, just random off and on. ideas?

Did you have your ecu reflashed from the dealer yet? Service recall on cold starts..

It has not, the car is off warranty so it doesn't go to the dealer often. I'm not very tech savy but could you explain this further? I also have read it could be carbon buildup or ba spark plugs?

Tmurt i have similar issues with my 3.2. Most of the time when i go to start it up, it has to crank over a few times before it actually turns on. My guess would be the infamous carbon build up on these fsi motors. But its possible that its a software update issue...but ive never heard of a reflash from audi for a cold start issue.

Carbon could be the issue. You dont have to have a warranty to get a recall done. Your local Audi dealer (should) take care of you..

Ok! sorry for the noob questions, but how would I go about getting the car checked out? dealer? And if it is carbon build-up, how much will it be to clean it out?

I am not sure what Audi would charge ya. I have 42k miles and dont have any signs of a carbon issue. Sorry RAI I know its off topic. Us 3.2 guys would love some hp upgrades
Go to audirevolution.net, they have a strong 3.0 following and I saw them mentioning development for the 3.2. JHM is already on there doing big things with the 3.0, I'm sure they would love to get their hands on a 3.2

I'm the one who started the post about getting mods developed for the 3.2 platform. JHM is in fact in the process of producing products for the 3.0, having already released intake manifold spacers. They will soon be releasing catless downpipes which i believe will fit the 3.2, ill probably end up being the person to test if they fit the 3.2.

This is something we will be checking.
We just had an old customer of ours, Josh, come in with his 2008 A4 for a full exhaust and tune. Stay tuned!

mine also does the same exact thing. 90% sure my plugs were replaced prior to my purchase... Im still curious if it could be carbon build up and how to get that fixed. If my car has been sitting for over 6hrs it takes a couple seconds longer to start but I'd say thats pretty normal for any car

What kind of oil are all you guys using? when winter started it was a little rough at startup, changed from castrol to mobile one and it's smooth as butter. Worth a shot.
Clint, definitely interested in hp upgrades, live too far away to help but am definitely interested in the final product!

I will change out my spark plugs and see if it helps and let you guys know

Seems most people have the 2.0T and makes finding threads for the 3.2 a little long. How about we use this thread to discuss mods and issues and so fourth with the 3.2L. i havent done many mods yet but plan on picking up some springs and A8 wheels in the near future.
Im also interested in what exhaust is available for the 3.2
Do you guys think it could work if I gutted the stock cat out, im thinking it would be higher flow and such, not to mention it would still look like a stock cat. any suggestions?

Think I remember reading some people doing this on here, I gutted that cat on my old car (86' Audi 4000, cat was rotten) and it gave it kind of a tinny, empty can sound. Sooo I would do some poking around here and see what other people think of it before you gut your cat (cat's are expensive!)

the issue with gutting the cat is that even though you will be removing the restrictive material, you will still have that large chamber which then necks down to very small piping. Yes you will gain a few ponies and probably some great sound from gutting the factory cats, but the remaining catalytic housing will cause turbulent airflow and you will not be able to maximize the gains. I think it's just worth it to just wait it out for someone to produce 3.2 specific catless downpipes. I highly doubt the gains will be disappointing.
Just stumbled across these forums today. I was really excited to find a 3.2 thread!! I recently bought my first audi a few months ago after i returned from deployment. I must say its the best car i've owned so far.
I was really hoping there was a turbo or supercharger kit out there to really put a smile on my face but i haven't found anything yet.
What's out there guys?

Some pics:
Already got some parts coming:
-rwerks smoked tail lights
-RS4 Pedals
-Shadowline Matte Black Trim
-Smoked Sidemarkers
-LaminX Smoked Headlight Covers
I'm considering Nick's S6 LED retrofit but im not sure if i should just go with some B8 headlights..
Also trying to find some good wheels. I hated the s-line wheels at first but they grew on me, so i'm not in dire need haha.
Carbon, welcome! unfortunatly there's next to no power mods available to us with the 3.2's. If you read through this thread you'll learn pretty much all that is available to us.
Also, if you go with B8 headlights you'll probably get flamed pretty bad, unless you go with phil's (search fly300kts)
Welcome carbon, like they said there really isn't much that has good value for 3.2. As for the headlights, the aftermarket ones have a rep for not being very bright or reliable. I have flys and they are great.
As for my problem with my rough idle, I swapped the spark plugs out and seems to have fixed the problem so far.
Here's a pic of flys

The 3.0T Supercharger would bolt right into the 3.2 but you would need to run the coolant lines and get the tuning done
Ive heard a lot about Phil, who is Phil and does he install the LED in the headlight? or is it a name of a company. How do i get a hold of Phil and how much
