Do these wheels suck? ($114 on tirerack) My car came with 5, have one new tire on the spare in the trunk.. badly need tires for when winter comes (mine are currently bald), and didn't know if it'd be wise to just buy 3 of these and call it a day, or get 4 new/better/cheaper ones. Looking for all-seasons because I don't have enough money, and probably won't have enough money by spring to purchase winter and summer sets.
TIA

these tires come stock on the B7. my brother has them and hasn't had much trouble with them at all and he likes them alot. if you've liked them go for it. i've also heard some people like the yokohama UHP all season. dont recall the exact model but they are only around 110-120 per tire if i remember correctly.

FYI, your looking at the wrong tires, the $114 P6's are H rated, you need the V rated which are $169. And for that price, you can definitely do better than those.
They are an UHP A/S tire that are WORLDS better than the factory tires, and as you can see, they are a ton cheaper. I have them on mine and the difference is huge, plus they don't look like the traditional A/S tire. They have a very aggressive looking tread that make it look like an UHP summer tire. And they are ZR rated so you'll never have to worry about outrunning them, and for the price they are unbeatable...
The Pirelli P6's came on my car when I purchased it. Only put about 2000 miles on it since then, seem to work fine but I haven't had them through there first winter season yet...which is the true test.

winter tires aren't all that bad of an idea up in VT, i had them on a RWD BMW and everything was great. in my quattro Audi out here at 11,000' in a huge blizzard with 12" of fresh snow on the road i haven't had any trouble with all-seasons whatsoever. they actually kicked serious ass last year.
if you don't have $ to get winter + summer tires, an aggressive set of all-seasons should suite you just fine in even the worst of winter conditions in VT, and you'll still get good mileage during the summer. i'd get something better than your Pirelli P6's though, on tirerack the deep snow/ice rating is only 4.4/4.6 out of 10!
i have the P6 four seasons and this will be my 2nd winter coming up. My first winter they were very, very good. I love them in fact. I've had them since last November, so almost a year now. And i've put probably 10k miles on them or so, somewhere around that. They perform the same in bad weather now as they did when i first bought them. And if you're thinking we just had summer so i couldn't possibly know that... i live in Seattle, Washington the rainy city so yes i could. The longest we went without rain all summer was 13 days or something like that. They do great and i'd recommend them for sure.
the P6 are crap, they are one of the cheapest and worst pirelli tires. If you go pirelli you either go winter or summer, not all seasons. I dont like all seasons to begin with, but if you absolutely need all seasons I would go with michelin pilot sports...
in my opinion the p6's are the most overrated tire ive ever seen...they roll like a bitch but the tractions okay..overall i dont like the p6's at all but they do have a nice looking sidewall
yeah they weren't that good last winter now that I think about it. At one point driving down a straight road running between two fields, the blizzard/wind made me start sliding off the road ahah

i have these too. i have mixed feelings about these. sometimes they are great, and at other times, they are aren't. Traction is fine with them. the looks are good. i don't like going over bumps cuz they seem to make a weird noise. even when driving on certain surfaces they have a decent hum, other times they are quiet as can be, like on fresh paved roads. im up in the air on these, i dont think id buy them, they just came with the car. HTH
They are consistently the lower ranking tires in the tests that I've seen, although they are better than the factory tires. But then again, most tires are going to be better than the stockers.
I've seen tons of happy customers from GTO's to Bimmers and lots of Subies with the Super Sports. They are top notch tires
i have bridgestone potenza re960's and i love them. for my next set, i'll be going with the pole position all season. they're rated pretty good for all season.

aye, I had the Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position on my B6 and it is TONS better than the Pirelli P6 that is on my B7. As far as super high performance all seasons I like either the RE960AS or the Pirelli PZero Nero M+S (had that on the Jetta), though the tread pattern on the pzero neros are er... uglier.
If ultra high performance all season is what you're looking for, I'd say either the RE960AS or the PZero Nero M+S, whichever one is cheaper on tirerack.
If you are looking for snow tires... sorry no help here.
Im runing them on my 17's but they were more than 150 a tire... all season runflats v speed rate. I also run 19's in summer with uhp's and they are great all around for the money
I am sorry to wake up old thread but I just purchased P6 four seasons OEM for 2008 b7 but its different than my origianl OEM p6 four season that was in the trunk (spare). my spare has bigger/larger rim protector than these new four seasons I got from Tirerack. It made me thing perhaps four seasons vs four seasons plus makes the different in rim protector. I got the pluses and their rim protector is so small.
Good thing I only bought 2 tires. I still got one more to buy and i want it to match my original spare.
