Any engine with some mileage on it will have some cylinder taper, more or less. The cylinders will also not be round anymore either.

Integrated Engineering's car with stock AWP small port head and stock cams with just a 3071r strapped to it made 423whp with 630cc injector unitronics file. Now tell me why we cant make 400? Yes this car is FWD so we will say 400 instead of 423. It has same 1.8t engine, less flowing head than AEB and stock cams (less power) tell me why we cant custom tune our car to 400whp with advantages over what it has.

How do you guys set your piston rings? Back when I took automotive classes, my teacher had taught us to set the pistons ring gaps across from one another (running parallel with the crankshaft.)

They should have OEM specs of where to set them I would think. I know my Wisecos had a spec sheet of how to do them

The oil rings go like a mercedes sign with the center one being the top, and the 2 compression rings go left and right

although when you compress them they move anyway

With them being 90* apart, you could have one of the gaps on the thrust side of compression stroke....which "in theory" could lead to some unnecessary blow-by.

Well sounds like you need to move out to Collierville, TN.

BTW I have family that live in Memphis since that is where my dad was born and raised. My uncle lives not far from the drag strip. I also spent some time in Collierville doing some work at the local Ford dealer (Bill heard).

good ole millington huh? i would go out and run the quarter but i think my times would be too embarrassing! perhaps with a BT one day... i was pretty set on a 28rs but it seems like gtrs's put down the best times nearly......

collierville has its bad spots too and seems to be pretty far from everything but certainly a lot nicer than memphis..... i suppose its true, memphis has some nice suburbs like germantown, collierville, southaven, marion etc... but the city offers little to its residents.... too bad you arent still here! i could get some REAL tuning help then!

I arrived at my friends shop where I would be doing the work and had to move some toys first to make room for my car.
