Hello and welcome to our Audizine Newsletter for August 2008. I wasn't lying, it's already been one crazy hot 'n hectic summer! A few major shows and get-togethers have come and gone, and we've got even more big ones just ahead. Details on them are below, along with our monthly wrap-up of the latest Industry News and Motorsport News. Our other regular monthly features can be found below as well, with this month's Featured AZ'er and info on our latest feature release; the very handy Reputation System. Don't forget to also check out the highly-requested Audizine Plate Frames we've got coming soon, and be sure to put in your pre-order now (if you haven't already). It's one the easiest mods you can do, and sure to add at least 5 horsepower to any car*!
Please use the Table of Contents above to jump to a specific section of interest, or read on below for all the latest news and information from around The Zine.
*Power increase may vary by model. Has not been officially tested on an actual dynamometer.
You may have noticed the addition of some new info to the left of everyone's posts, underneath one's username and avatar. There's now a "My Reputation" display along with a familiar looking "thumbs up/thumbs down" icon. Here you can see the Reputation Level (often simply called Rep) of each user, and with the icon you can give your fellow AZ'ers either positive or negative "Rep Points".
When used properly, this feature can go a very long way to improving this already great community. We are lucky to have a wonderful, friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful group here. While myself and many of you may know who those people are, newer members to the community may not. So when you see a thread or post that meets the adjectives above, then be sure to give that user a positive (thumbs up) Rep Rating. And in turn, when you come across a rude or unfriendly post, you're fully inclined to give that user a negative (thumbs down) Rep Rating. Over time (again, when used properly) this will give all of us a far better indication of who the true assets are, and help us to weed out the trolls!
To give Rep Points you simply click the rep icon as described above, and select either "I approve" or "I disapprove". You can then enter a brief note as to why you're giving the Rep that you are. To eliminate unnecessary retaliation and "Vengeance Repping", the Reputation System is currently set to anonymous. Only Admins can see who is getting/receiving Rep. Also, there are strict limits in place to help curb abuse. Only so much Rep can be given per day by an account. Also, older more established accounts will carry more weight when giving Rep than that of a new account. The more Rep you accumulate, the more your opinions will count! Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable advice can truly pay off now more than ever!
Your current Rep Level and most recent Rep Points can be seen by visiting your Control Panel.

We've once again secured discounts for the lucky AZ'ers that sign up for either event. Details are below, and we hope to see you there!
So they say size doesn't matter. Now I'm not quite sure who "they" are, but in this case it may be true. It doesn't matter that the TT scene is one of the smaller ones within the Audi enthusiast community. It doesn't matter that the TT is one of the smallest cars that Audi sells. No, what matters in this case is that this particular TT is done right. It is modified to one's own personal taste to stand apart from all others. This month's Featured AZ'er is a longtime enthusiast and an active member within the scene. He goes by the username EvotechTT, but his real name is Sal. He's the owner of one beefy TT. Wait, is that an oxymoron? No, that's a type of t-shirt...wait, no. Anyway, maybe size really does matter after all. Sal's taken a normal old TT, enhanced it, and here we are today - a Featured AZ'er. More

New Audi A3 Cabriolet minds the gap
Audi AG - 08/11/08 The new Audi A3 Cabriolet is already adept at getting its driver out of a tight spot thanks to a powered roof which can shrug off sharp showers in as little as 11 seconds, but it can now also find its way into one with the help of a new Parallel Park Assist feature. This sophisticated urban stress reliever is available right across the A3 Cabriolet range. Working in conjunction with the A3 Cabriolet’s sophisticated in-dash Driver’s Information System (DIS) - a standard feature of Sport and S line versions - the new Parallel Park Assist system is available as an optional extra. Audi driver Timo Scheider defends DTM lead
Audi AG - 07/27/08 With a fifth-place finish Audi driver Timo Scheider defended his overall lead in the DTM. However, a tire choice that failed to work out deprived Audi of a possible fourth victory of the season in the Eifel. As is often the case at the Nürburgring, the weather played a crucial part.
