I like the new setup! Is the new setup going to co-exist with the old? Or the old classys are going to be removed?

The old forum-based Classifieds will be phased out.
I see that the thumbnails on your ad weren't built correctly. Can you please provide details on the overall size of the images you uploaded? Maybe email them to admin@audizine.com so that we can have a look. Would like to figure out why that happened.

Re: All-New Classifieds Bug Report Thread
I'm having trouble uploading photos to my ads. I get an error message stating, "(): Sorry, this image type is not supported yet." It's a little strange since I already uploaded a picture of the same type.

And are the files you're having trouble uploading JPEGs or GIFs? If you can, email all of the photos to: admin@audizine.com

Thank you. Have you tried adding them after the ad was submitted, by going back in and editing it?
Let me know.

Yeah, I get the same error when I try to add them later. It did work for the latest ad I made but I didn't try to add it when I created it.
When I get error message and use the back button to submit the ad without the picture, the submit button is grayed out and can't be used.

They can be quite large. They should get auto-reduced to the proper size by the classifieds software.

I ended up resizing my images but still would like to know if we can link to photo sites.
When are you going to open up Miscellaneous Automotive/Non-Automotive for posting?

So after you resized them, they uploaded OK?
And I'll look into the issue with the Misc section.

For my first thread, resizing the pictures worked out, but not for the others. I had the same error that Condo had. I'm running on IE, PC, Windows XP.
I ended up posting pictures under Description which works for me.
BTW, I like the new classifieds. It's good to know you allocated 10 ads per user. What happens in the case of a major demod and a user has more than 10 items they want to sell? Can we request for more than 10? Will this be on a case by case basis?

We're continuing to look into the issue. Did some more testing this morning and we hope to have it resolved soon.
I don't really see a need for any regular member to have more than 10 open ads at once, but we'll deal with that issue if it ever arises. Settings, categories, and features can all be tweaked as necessary. We'll see how things progress.

Re: All-New Classifieds Feedback Thread
I do like how it is more organized in specific vehicle sections. The layout of each for sale add is more organized too. Navigation will take some time to get used to. I think that they are too many sub categories such as the wheel sizes and we could do with just a general wheel categories but thats just in my opinion. A definite improvement over the old one.

We didn't feel this would be a huge issue, but we could certainly revaluate the cats and add others if necessary. And yes for now you can certainly post more than one ad if you need to. Every member is allowed up to ten ads at one time.

Re: All-New Classifieds Feedback Thread
An excellent interface with easily navigated sub sections. A huge step up from the old way as long as we get the thumbnails working :p

Re: All-New Classifieds Feedback Thread
I wanted to port over my 1.8L engine that is currently for sale in the older classifieds but I run into a problem.
The first step asks for which category. This engine will work in the B6 A4 and some B5 A4s. I can't include more than one category. Guess I'll have to post it in the B6 A4 category and specify in my description that it will also work on some B5 A4s.......

You could post the ad under both categories, or use the broader more general A4 category.

Re: All-New Classifieds Feedback Thread
I just tried to put an ad up for 19" wheels and I filled out the entire form and added the pics and hit submit, it took about two minutes of loading and then took me back to the step 2 page where you select a category. It did this twice without listing my item, whats the issue? (my pics aren't that large)

Can you put an option in the shipping section for PICKUP ONLY? I find it confusing the way it is.

What's confusing about it? The Classifieds section isn't really designed/intended for exclusively local sales, at least not how it's currently set-up. We could adjust things, and add a "Local Pick-Up Preferred" shipping option.

Can you try submitting the ad with just one photo, see if that works. If not, then try submitting it without any photos. Photos can be added/edited later. Please report back your findings.
Thank you.

Yes that would be inappropriate. The post you quoted was from 2008. There are now "Wanted" sections within the main Classifieds. You can also use your respective Regional Classifieds Subforum ( http://www.audizine.com/forum/forumd...al-Classifieds).

Re: All-New Classifieds Feedback Thread
The Message Board for the FS section kind of hit me as a shocker. I just noticed today, I had a reply for one of my FS threads from Monday. The person did not leave a comment, so I did not know it was there. Plus, it would be nice to have the thread tool to subscribe to my own FS threads. They can easily be lost after the lists of ads start to build up.
1)I personally think the message board for the FS section is not well constructed and that to have messages directed to the the PM boxes of users more effecient.
2)There should be a way for OPs to be able to keep track of thier FS ads and compile them in one place. Such as the task accomplished by: thread tool>subscribe to thread>instant email notification

When you create an ad, there is a check-box option to receive messages when someone comments. Just be sure that your email address is up to date. We will be looking at ways to integrate this into the main forum messaging system as well.
And it's also very easy to view all of your ads, as well as track others you're interested in. There is a "My Ads" link up in the Classifieds Nav, right next to one called "My Watch List". They work great and are extremely helpful.
