How much does it cost to fix a broken tie rod?

Is it a serious problem? I found out i had a broken tie rod about a week ago, but haven't had the chance to fix it yet. How much should i expect to pay for the part? Any reccomendations on where I should order the part for cheap?

Inner or outter? Either way, you could do them yourself. I did the outter tie rods in about 20 mins per side.

It depends. I had problems replacing my outer tie-rod ends, the bolts were rusted. Couldn't get them off, it was like they held on for dear life. Had a shop do it for me and they ended using a blow torch to get those bolts off. I only paid $40 labor though cause I am related to the shop owner.

Try www.ecstuning.com and buy the heavy duty tie rod ends. I just bought mine a couple days ago for $117 shipped. I heard they're much better than the OEM tie rods, steering should feel much tighter, I'll find out in a couple days after I install them.

I agree. I did a lot of searching for tie rods and found ECS Tuning to be the cheapest anywhere. Most other places were charging close to $200 for each.

is that 117 for 2 tie rods or just 1? I plan on selling this car in the near future, so I don't really wanna invest too much money on it since i just dropped about a grand taking care of some maintenance problems. How much are OEM ones?

117 shipped for the pair. The OEM's are about $100 each, which I wouldn't suggest getting since they are prone to wear much quicker.
