Looks great. Hey can you tell me what Radar detector you bought and do you have pics of the install. I want to do the same. Thanks
i'm running the Escort 7500S, but i would recommend getting the 8500 or a Valentine 1 because the one i have keeps going off with false alarms and the radar picks things up later than the newer models.
unfortunately i don't have picts of the install, but it took a little bit of dremeling, a little bit of filing, and a lot of glue. haha, i just got a hardwire kit for Escort Detectors and tore the remote apart and put the chip inside the piece. PM me if you have any more questions

APR exhaust. after a 1.5 month wait to save 150, i finally got it, and needless to say, performance is solid and sounds is distinctly better.
i finally jumped on the last RS4 pedal gb that Greg held. simply put, they are a great upgrade. although, you gotta pay to play for some fricking pedals, they were definetly worth putting on.
and for fun...
and that rounds out 2006. we'll see what 2007 holds...
Hey yoogene ** did you ever put your S4 blades back on? I just picked up some and still deciding on whether or not I want to paint them. If you put them back on painted, could you post pics?
Thanks ** Dante

hey are you still running the same Neuspeed Sport Springs and Bilstein Sport shocks setup throughout all these pics even till now?
yep. something sqweeks now, so i have to figure out what's going on, but they're still going strong.
Dante, i never put the blades back on, as i didn't like how it broke up the lines of the car, so i ended up selling them. i will admit, however, they did serve a purpose in that it helped deflect the rain/snow from the front doors. if you're adamant about it, put them on, you can always sell them later
Cool ** I just dropped them off at Daniels to get them painted. Based upon other B7's that have them on, I'm pretty sure I'll be happy with them. Can't wait! I should have them on by Wednesday.

so i was perusing under the car last night trying to figure out what was making the inordinate amount of vibration noise in my cabin at 2.5krpms when i stumbled upon this:
that wouldn't have been an issue, except when it was actually connected between the turbo and N75, this is what you could see
although nothing that's gonna break the car in the immediate future, it was still something that needed to be rectified. i went to Autozone this afternoon and picked up some 1/4" fuel line to replace the old hose.
Driving impressions noted after putting in the new line was that i was immediately boosting LESS than what i was before with a butt dyno of about -10hp. why? i too pondered this and came to this conclusion:
the hole in the hose creates a vacuum in which the n75 regulates the amount of boost that the turbo can send to the intake mani, however, since there was a hole in that hose, it would allow air to leak out, thus, making the n75 think there was less boost than what was actually being produced, which in turn led to the n75 actuating the wastegate to allow for more boost. I always noted that was i boosting ~22psi on b7t5, which should have been around 20psi spike with a 18psi hold. i just thought my car was badass and thought nothing of it. little did i know, that the additional boost was from the leak and was also creating a lean condition, which is bad joojoo.
car drives fine now, as well, although a little less boost, it's feels quicker in 1+2 gears, but 3+ seem to have slowed down. oh well
car is almost at 60k miles. no plans for a rebuild or more motor work as of yet; i'm pretty pleased with it's level of performance. the only thing i have on the plate is a Timing belt job which i should be doing within then next 5k or so...that and i need new front rotors and pads since mine are warped to all hell and i'm sick of the amount of brake dust created by the stock s4 pads. i will update with those things as soon as i have the spare cash to purchase the parts
Dude... The ride is unreal. You're now officialy my idol!
Last week i bought the same car is yours (color, year, etc... like a twin), the only thing done so far is tinted windows, but it's a start, now i have a something to look at. btw painting the grey parts of the bumper and doors looks awesome thats a next thing i'm doing along with a rear lip.
the latest round of changes took away some of the overly aggressiveness of the audi. got rid of the 4" Magnaflow straight edge tips, the kercher CF lip and the oettinger wheels brought the car to a much more subtle, VIP style look that the Audi needs. now it's just sweet, fast and pretty.
This is by far the most amazing B6 I have seen.... Your past three years have been well worth it, you have the best looking B6 I've seen... Your a true enthusiast who really has the Mod Bug. I don't think anyone can say they've gone through 3 different pairs of rims. Keep up the good work man, I don't know how much stuff you have left to do... you've done so much. It looks great though, truly does
thanks for the compliments fellas, it's nice to know it still turns heads :)
i paid around retail way back when....ahh...the good old days...
anyways.... swapped out my brake pads today...and swapping my brake pads took me 3 fucking hours.
not because i'm incompetent, or stupid, but because ECS sent me the wrong pads! aggghhhh. you know what i did? you're gonna think i'm a fucking genius.
duct tape for asians. works every time.
i'll see you all in a fiery blaze when the zip ties melt and my brakes stop working.
on another note, i got these:
feel just like OEM after bleeding with some standard Valvoline Synthetic DOT4 fluid and bites just as hard. it should be nice not having to clean the wheels every 30 miles due to the low-dust rating though!
decided to start my timing belt job last night and got about 2 hours into it before calling it a night.
how she started...
the supplies
an hour into it
2 hours into it
2 hours into it parts
i also figured out that my motor mounts are fucked too. so there's another $100 in parts...yay.
current list of things to do/fix.
-65k oil change
-65k tranny/diff flush
-coolant flush
-replace timing belt
-replace water pump
-replace motor mounts
-fix boost gauge
-fix exhaust mounts
ahh...the joys of ownership

ok, progress day 3:
managed to get the front clip off after a lot of yanking and pulling and trial and error.
anyways...
an hour into it...
2 hours into it...
and i had to stop because my jimmy dean 12mm sockets straight up rounded off from the tensioner bolt. i COULD NOT get that ****** loose and managed to cut my hands up pretty good in the process. any advice on that piece?
also, i wasn't paying attn to my AC condenser that was sitting on the box and i think i successfully fucked it up too. opinions??
took 30 minutes to figure out how the tensioner on the t-belt worked and as soon as i figured that i out it became pretty straightforward. talk about some crazy german engineering! holy crap.
anyways...
everything out
everything new in
old water pump...looked to be in pretty good shape...better safe than sorry with this car though, right?
this stripped 2 of my 12mm sockets...only to realize i'm a dumbfuck and the 12mm bolt doesn't come out.
and the crazy little contraption we call the t-belt tensioner
sewn back up...sorta
and i finally got these babies in today. hopefully i can get out of work early tomorrow and get the car back together and put the new mounts in.
thanks for the kind words guys, hope to keep her around for quite some time and gotta make sure she's good to go!
swapped in new motor mounts as part of my 65k mile overhaul. I heard a bad clunking noise from the front passenger side of my car and became pretty convinced it was my motor mount. so i swapped them for the ones from 034 motorsports rubberized constructed ones. they're $45 a pop and better than OEM s4/rs4 mounts since they don't have any fluid in them.
Stage 3 cars have the turbo VERY close to the mount, a K03 or K04 may have more working room. there is a 13mm nut inside the red circle. you can go at it several ways, but i just did my best with my socket set and some crescent wrenches and crow's feet wrenches
If you do this however, make sure your car is on ramps, and NOT jackstands! the pressure will shear the bolt and ruin your sway bar as you can see, i know from first hand experience.
make sure you just LOOSEN the endlinks, and only do so AFTER you have taken the bushings off the lower frame mounts. i broke the bolt holding the end links and now have to buy another bolt and figure out how to get the leftover bolt inside the sway bar out.
Took me about 2 hours...the passenger side took me 1.5 hours and the drivers took me 30 minutes. the top nut is a bitch, the rear bolt is a bitch, and the damn lower frame didn't fall down all the way so you had to finagle the mount in and out.
drove the car to work this morning; no more clunking and the slop between shifts is gone. car shifts smooth as butter now and i don't have this horrendous noise when i downshift from 4th-2nd without double clutching.
HOWEVER, i did blow my "coilpack cherry" yesterday on the way in to work. it was the first time in 3 weeks i had been able to really drive the car and after i got on it from first...to second...then third...then massive misfires, hesitation and blinking CEL. pulled over, shut the engine off and turned it back on; turned off my water/meth injection (which had been off since last summer) and drove a little bit. car started sounded like a WRX with an exhaust so i pulled into the next shopping center and started swapping coilpacks. i thought it was either cylinder 1 or 2, but ended up being cylinder 3. then went back home, checked the code and confirmed cylinder 3 and went back to work.
i haven't really gotten on the throttle since because the temp gets to 100*F by 820am so i'm taking it easy to prevent massive pre-detonation and knocking. OTHERWISE though, the car runs smooth as silk; shifts are smooth and the car got considerably quieter after the timing belt change. almost sounds like stock. almost. hehe
