First thing, when I get back from Vegas, is installing my RNS-E. Then I really want the RS4 steering wheel(if I get the airbag to talk with my 1stage system). THEN I might look into upgrading my engine, or finding a 3.0TDi...

That car is amazing, coming from a fellow Norwegian. It's what modding a car is all about. So what if its got a 1.9tdi in it. I wish i had that motor in my Avant.
To all the HATERS probably with RS4 reps, this is what you wish you could do to your car. You guys want the RS4 look, just like he's built..............And the funny thing is that your 1.8t, or 2.0 that wants to be a Rs4 is just as slow as his.
He actually meant 220000. The car is 65-70k here and ridiculously expensive in Norway and that's why he did this instead of buying one!
In Turkey,
My car is 25.000 $ right now, it has nothing and its 2003 year model.. I believe in US, you can buy an S4 there with that money.. ?
A b7 RS4 is like 200.000 $ .. So some of you guys who are telling " why did not you just buy an rs4" is invalid here and in some of the other countries..
Oh I forgot to mention about the taxes; over 3.0 litre engines, you start to pay 7.000 $ per year, in a brand new RS4 it will hit up to 11.000 $ ..
Some people like to actually build cars and not buy cars like the average joe does.
Incredible transformation.
If you are going to build an A4, make it better than the RS4, not a wannabe with a custom color. Thats just my opinion. I guess some peoples priorities are looks. Personally, I would have started with the drivetrain then the interior, then the exterior, but then again...I think about resale value, and investment, and opportunity cost...things every car builder should think about.

Everybody has a right to their opinion.
But you generalize a car builder. Everybody makes their car unique in some way. Here you have A4 in RS4 body, which I think is unique. And it is a show car, not track car. Different priorities, different goals.
And BTW, do you know that price of fuel in Europe is twice that in US?

And as long as you think monetary value and cost are the most important things to consider when building a project like this, you'll never go anywhere in the custom car world. Passion, vision, and imagination are far more important than resale value to some people. Besides that, the guy built a car with the styling and comfort of an RS4, custom paint and other touches to personalize it, and an economical engine in a country where gas is exhorbitantly expensive. Would it make sense for a rich guy in the US to do this? Probably not, but it fits perfectly with what he wanted and the conditions he had to work with. And this last comment is not aimed specifically at BSIXER, but is meant as more of a shotgun blast at the whole community. Why do most people here seem to follow the crowd and hate anything that's different? And why do you have to question people's motives for customising their cars? Too many people ask why and criticise. The better question is "Why not?" Constructive criticism is great, but dogging someone's work without understanding where they are coming from is just plain stupid and arrogant.

Don't get me wrong here, I love this RS4 conversion, its outward appearance is flawless. But its not extremely custom in my opinion, more of just a knock off of something better. Would I drive it...Hell yeah...but I wouldn't spend my money to do it. Resale is a big part of the picture with custom cars now adays. Why do names like Boyd Coddington and Chip Foose create custom automobiles that increase in value, because they build them better than the originals!

Well said. I only wish I had the time to build a car and if and when I can and do find the time to do it, it'll be whatever makes sense to me, regardless of what is logical to anyone else. I can only be thankful for guys like Billi who share their projects and help me live vicariously through them.
