Mystery Buttons on Door of 2004 A4

    Just joined the site..

I've just bought a 2004 Audi A4 SE 100bhp and I'm just wondering does anyone know what the 2 buttons on the lower part of the drivers door (almost inside the pocket) are for, couldn't find them in the manual.
Is it something to do with the alarm??

Tilt sensor. I put it on when I get towed. There are 3 buttons in that area.

And I think the other is for the motion detector with the alarm system. Its in the manual somewhere I just forget which page.

Re: Mystery Buttons on Door of 2004 A4

1- Trunk (to open your trunk)
2- interior motion sensor (if window is left open or any movement in car while car is locked so that the alrarm will not go off)
3- motion sensor (if car moves at all either on a boat, or being towed while car is locked so that the alarm will not go off)

Yeah - my '03 didn't have a manual from Carmax. I actually got it in the mail yesterday - 80 bucks from Audi (had to get the leather cover). Carmax reimburses up to 50 bucks.

I'm learning all kinds of cool things about my car! I always thought the motion sensor button was to release the fuel door! RTFM, indeed. Or, as I see so often on the 'zine - RTFM FTW.

    LMFAO!!!

The very first time I pulled up into the gas station to fill my car, I had NO clue how to open the gas tank cover! I was pressing EVERY button in the car. I then proceeded to read my manual in teh gas station and that gave me no hint...I then sadfully left to figure it out at home! LOl...good times

I don't know if I have the "ultrasonic interior monitoring system," but I have the same model as you. When I hit that middle switch (not tilt or trunk release), I don't get a light on the switch or any indication that it works. It's also not mentioned in the owner's manual for the '03 A4. Guess I could lock myself in the car and wiggle around to see if the alarm goes off.

    Where are the sensors?
