Made the switch to the dark side today :/

Well, my lease is almost up, and I switched to the dark side. I got a pre-owned 335i coupe. Montego blue on black interior. Love the car so far. But, I am really missing the sound of my fast-intentions S4 ! Since the lease is almost up on the S4, I NEED to sell the exhaust ASAP! Its a full exhaust by fast intentions... H-pipe non resonated, perforated core. I am going to get it dismounted in a couple of days, so look out for a thread in the classifieds.

335 TT engine is awesome, too bad BMW did the oil dipstick delete option on it. I was considering the 535xi touring with 6MT, but hate to own a car where I can't manually check the oil level. Enjoy the car, I am sure it is an awesome ride!

I am enjoying the car to the fullest right now. The torque is just amazing! I am very happy with the switch, but I am still an Audi boy at heart and I will be back on this forum sometime in the future!

This car impresses me every time I get in and push the button. Its got some really cool features like the keyless entry and keyless start, and when the car is on a hill, the hand brake kicks in for a couple of seconds so that you dont start rolling back, and the headlights turn with the steering wheel. I am loving this car! And I really dont know what the deal is with the interior, I find it just as nice as the one in my S4.

Its defiantly just as nice as the B6's were. But look how far behind in the styling BMW is when compared to the B8s. And I have an e90

How do you non after market exhaust guys live?!?! I got my FI fullback taken down today and man was that a sad drive home! I couldn't hear a thing.

Emericr, you are gonna love this exhaust, the sound is just amazing! Oh, and btw, make sure you bring a little extra gas money tomorrow, youre not going to be able to stop revving!

I can't wait for the exhaust to be installed tomorrow. Supposedly, the mpg will do a curve, will go down first becuase you can't stop reving :) then more back to normal and people have stated they have seen an increase. Driving semi city/hway, I do about about 17mpg. We will see...

Correct. My mpg when I got the exhaust was under ten , but after the revving, it increased considerably

its definitely a great car, but the reliability according to the only personal experience i have (one of my very good friends) was not good and he ended up getting an s5 after having the 335 for less than a year.

also, +1 on staying away from e90post.com.....i'll talk to you about bimmers here just to protect you from that place if you want.

Good car,...however S to a 3 series is a step down IMHO. Should've gotten yourself a new M3/5/6 if you're gonna go darkside.

E90post is a breeding ground for the clueless.

I borrowed my buddy's 335i sedan w/ sport pkg / 6-speed prior to picking up my 05 S4 Avant. It was a nice car - no doubt about it. Accelleration was basically on par with the S4 (w/ Milltek) - at least as close as I can tell. The V8 has a bit more grunt under 2K rpm, and the 335i might pull harder up top. The interior of the S4 is nicer to me anyway. The seats are more comfy and more supportive and have a higher quality leather. I am not a big fan of the current leather that BMW is using - the E36 M3 and E39 M5 had nice leather (I owned one of each) and the S4 seems to be on that level. The new BMW leather is too hard and too textured for my tastes. The iDrive is nothing but annoying for me as well. I prefer the traditional dash mounted controls. Not that the B6 Nav system is much better mind you, but at least it has conventional radio and HVAC controls. And the dash layout and guages are more drivers focused in the S4. The one thing I do miss in the B6 is steering wheel controls for radio, but I must say I do prefer the big thick wheel in the S4 over the 335i sport wheel.

I will have pics in about a week. The car is going to the dealership to get some minor things fixed.

I think I am going to make my own catback exhaust. I really dont think that the eisenmann exhaust is worth that much.

i remember you from e90post. i sold my 330 and picked up an S4. it may not be quite as fast as a 335i, but speed isn't everything as you know. congrats on your upcoming purchase. after being induced by the intoxicating burble of a V8, i don't think i can go back! you had an FX45 before your 330, right? i did too

335 is a great car, I love the steering feel and the suspension. Feels really well connected. I absolutely loved the 335 coupe. Congrats, enjoy your new ride
