Phil I want to polish my Brillant Black. I have a griots 6in DA with thier polishes that i think are crap. They did not do as good a job as i would have liked. I was thinking this time meg 105, man. power gloss or sip as a cut followed by what? trying to just buy two polishes! Also what pads?

once that's all done use a good wax or sealant to protect the finish
Phil
Would M205 work as good as menz sf4000 on a brilliant black? or would u recommend using menz sf4000 over the m205? im using a dewalt rotary buffer though...sorry didnt mean to thread jack, i just want to polish my brilliant black also
Have you had any success polishing a windshield? I've got some minor scratches and wondered if you have had any experience using some compound to take out the scratches. Any suggestions?
Phil,
My moro Blue S4 looks stunning after I hand wash it, but I can tell there are a number of swirl marks built up when I look at it under my garage light & certain sun light. Without wetsanding, how can I work to rid the swirl marks? Does Clay-bar remove swirls to an extent?
What do you recommend for hard to remove carbon buil up on exhaust pipes? I used an industrial degreaser to no avail.

Phil,
I just got some iron cut and tried using it but i need a little more direction as to the proper technique. I know you wash the car first, but do you dry it before the iron cut or leave it wet? also it says don't let it dry, So i set the hose nozzle to the mist setting and misted the drying areas, is that correct? Also, i waited for it to turn red/purple like i have seen in many pictures in your write ups, but it never really did, i do have a black car so it could be hard to tell but as i rinsed it off i saw no coloring on the pavement either. After i was done drying and everything a little while later i noticed it had changed color on the pavement. So could you please give me a little more detailed instructions than what are on the bottle. And would it ever be possible that there were just no contaminates on the car so it didn't react and change color? Thanks
Morning Phil, I'm starting to see some rust build up between the edges lip and the face of my wheels. Will Sonax work on this? SHould I let it sit there longer than usual? Since it's such a tight area what would you recommend? Toothbrush? LOL I dont want to scratch the painted surface.
Just bought a Girots 6" and 5l of sonax from your company phil. thanks for the quick shipping and great service! I'll be buying much more from you in the future to clean my Q5 and A7! I have the detailing bug with this warm weather we are having here on the east coast! Keep up the good work and your blog archives are a great marketing and refernce tool btw.

I have a Tornador air foam gun that I have had for a few years and I wantedt o know what washes to you suggest are best for prepping for a full detail and what is best to use post deatil to preserve the wax and finish? Do you recommend pre-washing with W99 before as and added decontaminent pre-detail as well?

if you plan on doing the complete car I would consider doing w99 as a pre wash.
Is Adams APC a suitable substitute for W99? for the pre wash

I have a new 2012 Q5 in Daytona Grey that I am looking at getting some car care stuff for. I am not looking to do any detailing, mostly only basic stuff such as a wash and a spray detail. What do you recommend for a good exterior wash + spray detail + drying and some glass products. Thanks in advance.
I want to take the time out to write a true hug Thank you! You honestly have the best customer service policy of any company I have bought from online, period. My last order was of a nice size and I thank you for the fast shipping and the extras that were thrown in. You definitely have me as a customer for life. Im going to be starting a smallish detailing side business to do for friends and family just because I enjoy doing it and love seeing the end results. So once again, THANK YOU!!

P.S I have a couple of light swirls on my car so reflectivity is breaking up on the surface. I also have a couple of deeper swirls on my trunk lid (No idea where they came from) Must have happened in the winter. Should I use the M105 then Mazerna SIP or Mazerna Finishing? Just want to know if M105 will be too much or will it help? On the trunk lid I used the SIP and it helped but some of the deeper swirls are still visible even after some significant work being put in. How many passes do you usually take for a panel with the Griots on average? How much time on a door panel for example? Using just SIP on a really badly swirled car took me way too many hours which is why I purchased the M105.
