Have you guys notice when you’re on the highway and the front lights and fogs are on, you turn on the windshield washer, the fogs turn off by them self…

- Set control for the right side passenger mirror, go into reverse and the mirror tilts down so you can see the curb, only works for passenger mirror though
I tried that parking light thing, it's cool, had whatever side I picked lit up, does it waste your batteries though? Is it like leaving your headlights on, battery-wise?
what do you mean by "set control"? i tried a few things and it didn't work.
When you want to move your mirrors to your liking, you first pick a mirror with the controls, left-neutral-right, the mirror controls on the door. That's what I mean, set it to the passenger mirror, go in reverse, mirror tilts down.

hm...yeah i did that...didn't work.
i had it on neutral before...set it to the right...put it on R...started backing up and nothing...
what year is your ride?

Afterwards, put mirror setting back to neutral and it goes back to previous position.

Originally posted by Duchenbagen If you have the lighting package with the self dimming mirror when you put your car into reverse the self dimming feature does not work, so you have an unobstructed veiw. Also, when you put the car in reverse the HVAC system automatically goes into recirc. so you do not get any fumes in the cabin.

Its not just the lighting packae that does this... they all do as long as you have the auto dimming mirrors, when you shift into reverse they dont darken.

Im gonna totally disagree with this, and why you ask because I have a friend that is 6'6" 285lbs (he plays college football) he has drove my car several times and the 1st time he got in he slid the seat all the way back and was like damn this thing has a lot of room I need to slide the seat up some, and he has never said the car was to small and he has also rode in the back a few times.

I can help you with your 1.8t work (timing belts, etc)

Those who say it can't be done should get out of the way of those who are doing it.

The De-Bose procedure posted here is bunk. I'm not sure what the purpose of the Radio/NAV setting is, but it only drops volume *temporarily*, and does not alter the frequency response.
Try this:
1. Turn radio up to volume 15 (note the sound)
2. Enter Radio/NAV, turn to 0
3. Turn radio down one notch to volume 14 and immediatly back up to volume 15 (note that it sounds exactly like it did before)
4. Keep radio at volume 15
5. Enter Radio/NAV, turn to 5 or -5 or whatever the max is. Note that it gets much quieter. Also note that the VOLUME has changed, not the frequency response.
6. Now turn the volume DOWN one notch to 14 and back up to 15. Note that the audio returns to EXACTLY the same levels as it was in step 1
:D
There is an actual DeBose procedure but it requires recoding via VAG-COM. I did it on my radio, but the actual numbers weren't documented for my radio code. I'll see if I can find the numbers (I believe I originally found them by searching AW's VAG-COM forum).
This setting in your radio will increase the volume level of the radio based on the speed of the vehicle. This is so you don't have to compensate for road noise by turning the radio up and down as you speed up and slow down.
Hold Menu on your Radio for 5 seconds until you see "SVC". Change the value from off to 5. The higher the setting, the more the volume will be increased based on speed.
Originally posted by JStanger I have used a couple of these. Holding down the auto button to simoutaneously set the dual climate control and the + - under the dash to dim the interior lights. Did not know either of these!!
Okay, I've tried the climate control trick and it's cool. But I want to set it back to independent climate control (stock setting). How do I do that??? Please help.

On my sunroof if you twist it all the way it will retract even further but causes alot of wind noise when driving.
I'm confused about this. What do you guys mean about getting the sunroof further into the roof? When I open mine it goes all the way into the roof already?

in my usp, if you rotate the roof switch until it stops clicking it auto opens but if you look at the roof you can see 2" of sunroof still. but of you rotate the switch more and hold it, that 2" tucks right in.

GET AN AUDI.
INFINITY AUTOMOBILES ARE KNOWN FOR BEING AUTOMOBILES DRIVEN BY TWERPS.
AND DONT GET A BMW, REMEMBER....BMW DRIVERS ARE USUALLY HOMOSEXUAL.
YOU DONT WANT TO BE A HOMOSEXUAL TWERP DO YOU?
I DONT THINK SO. GET A GROWN MANS AUTOMOBILE, AN AUDI.
This was overlooked by me and saw a Audi tech do it and I felt dumb. I never knew you could open the trunk with the hidden button under the lid, above the license plate.
I always either used the button from my key fob or the latch in the driver side door. That little switch is coolness. hahah
