If you read the whole description from the Audi Press Communicate you will find out how many things have changed.
E-Brake is now an electronically emergency brake, activated by the button on the left of the shifter, close towhere the other controls are for MMI. Just like the current A6. Not necessarily a good thing cause I can't U-turn anymore, but I think I like the idea, it looks neat and has some advantages: the e-brake can be activated (automatically) when in Neutral or when certain conditions apply.

I looked at the first photo really quick and simply thought "man that A5 looks really aggressive"... until I saw the front license plate indicating A4 1.8T.
It goes to show how similar the two cars really are. I'm really digging both models.

The red is sex!
More pics from Frankfurt and info from Motor Trend:
Audi's big Frankfurt premiere is the latest version of its bread-and-butter sedan. Longer, lower, wider, the new B8 A4 is essentially a four-door version of the sexy A5 coupe. Wheelbase is up a whopping 6.6 inches, and it has shorter overhangs and a new higher-quality interior with real useful rear-seat headroom and shoulder-room for a C-segment car. Overall length is up 4.6 inches, it is 1.1-inches wider and 0.1 inch lower, and the drag coefficient has come down from 0.31 to a very impressive 0.27. The front suspension has been moved forward with the engine sitting farther back, and the steering rack is lower, for lower center of gravity and better handling. The handsome new sedan has LED daytime driving lights in the lower part of the headlamp, Audi's answer to BMW's ring parking lights. In its quest to reverse the usual increase in weight, the new A4 has "a very strong aluminum content" and extensive use of ultra-high-strength steel, for lower mass versus the B7 A4. Every A4 will come with MMI (the Kraftwerk-like "man-machine interface" ancillary control device) with top models getting MMI with a navigation screen on the center dash. The base MMI setup displays directions in the instrument panel. The A4 will launch next August or September in the States with a 265-horsepower, 243 pound-foot 3.2-liter FSI direct-injection V-6 with standard six-speed Tiptronic automatic. Later, we'll get an all-new 2.0-liter turbocharged direct-injection four (presumably with six-speed manual or DSG available), with at least 250 horsepower and perhaps as much as 260 pound-feet of torque. Audi will probably show the new A4 Avant next year at Geneva, and it will go on sale in the U.S. with the sedan, with pricing close to the current car's $28,000 to $38,000 range. We'll have to wait another year for the S4, and an RS4 version will launch some time after that.

Re: frankfurt auto show
2.0T specs are just rumours from MT. Nothing confirmed but if Audi did bump up the power I would guess 220hp perhaps, 250hp gets a little close to their V6 offering.
Dual exhaust pipes - yes on the larger motors, and probably also on the 2.0T. Single exhaust pipe for the engines smaller less than 2.0L. And for those who don't know already, there are a lot more engine choices in Europe and the road taxes depends on the size of the engine hence why there are these smaller engines there.

Re: frankfurt auto show
Hmmm noticed a few things. The red A4 has the S-line package, but no S-line badging, but you do see it on the door sill. Also the driver's seat, on the side, has airbags so possibility that these might be the seats that comes to North America?
-
Re: frankfurt auto show
Audi needs to get in the game with the 3.2.... the 335 which is technically the competition for it, has 300 hp and 300tq, and the C350 has quite a bit more power too... And I also really hope the 2.0T has at least 230hp seeing as the 328 has 231 and is considerably lighter

Yes I noticed that too. It's the little stlying enhancements and subtle yet aggressive differences that make the S-line even better than the standard one (as is the norm, but still). Man, so hot! I'm quite curious if they'll differentiate the S4 from the S-line A4 this time around.

Re: frankfurt auto show
Also noticed that the S-line badging is where the engine badging is on the S4/RS4, slapping it on the door doesn't work as they don't have any plastic add-on this time around. Might have to debadge that!

If the comments on the GTI getting 227hp next year is right, then Audi will probably bump the power up on the new A4, which of course they need to.
220-230hp would be good with 230lb ft. 250hp with 260lb ft. would be VERY sweet indeed, but that negates the V6...unless Audi has some turbo plans for the V6.....?

From other pics I've seen the S-Line badge on the B8 is where the front fender turn signal on the B7 is.

Im liking the 3.0...not liking 1.8t so much....i must say audi is designing to look so similar to bmw...side shot looks like the new bmw style IMO...not digging the rear just over the license plate....interior very nice but again looking very similar to BMW

Yeah right... look again.
Interior is just a combination between A8, A6 and A4 B7, with some changes of course, but I can see every single thing coming from something Audi had and improved. Did u ever sit in an A6? What about a BMW? BMW is rough, with corners on every single button that is not round. Totally different style.
Exterior, the same, it is a clear improvement over the B7. The main structure is similar indeed with BMW's look, they have to keep 4 wheels and 4 doors and a trunk and the same number of windows. But all the details are different, all together another style. I wouldn't mind having the B8 compared to the 3 series, since so many people love the look of their BMW, especially since when placed close to each other the B8 looks better, with more attention at details. I don't mind, but I think they are similar only in ideas. I mean, just cause I have two eyes and one nose doesn't mean I look just like you.

You can't be serious. This is by FAR that most sporty A4 ever made. The B6 was the most tame, mellow, family looking A4 Audi has produced ten fold.
Just to clarify, you are saying this...
... is sportier than this???
Granted the B6 is not a USP, but even that pales in comparrison.
BTW, I can make fun of the B6 in the pic because it was mine. That's what it looked like when I bought it. Very sporty!
