Re: All your Blow Off Valve (BOV) & Diverter Valve (DV) / By-Pass Valve (BPV) Questio
There are a few videos of the forge splitter on 1.8t's. They don't seem too noticibly loud in my opinion. That might only be due to bad camera sound quality though.

The Upper intake hoses that you are referring to never go bad, usually people do them (like I did) for aesthetic reasons only. The only issue around that area is the TBB besides the stock DVs tearing with increased boost levels.

awesome sales team!
X2. I've had my Hyperboost valves for over 2 years and they have been through stage 1, 2, and now 3 for the past 1.5 years. Great valve and customer service too. They come to Waterfest and offer discounts on those valves usually.
Re: All your Blow Off Valve (BOV) & Diverter Valve (DV) / By-Pass Valve (BPV) Questio
The guy who tuned my car ( Search for MRC S4 on Youtube) is running around 570bhp and he still uses stock RS4 Diverter valves. The metal ones have a tendency to stick because it's metal to metal contact.
Just to add to the debate on BOV's the point raised about MAF sensor location and dumping metered air, is it really worth the extra hassle just for a little whoosh?
Re: All your Blow Off Valve (BOV) & Diverter Valve (DV) / By-Pass Valve (BPV) Questio
Just did the 710N's purely as a preventative maintanence thing, world of difference. The stock ones were still working, that is opening under decel to recirculate the boost, but apparently they were also opening and leaking off under boost conditions as well. Now my car makes consistant power under all conditions. The old ones were very easy to push open, and the 710N's had a lot more resistance. I don't know if this was because mine were original to the car (73K miles) and worn out or if the new parts just have more resistance, but for around $100, everyone should do this.

i know this is my first post but i am buying an S4 and i use to have one a few years back while i worked at Achtuning. i used forged 007 but they were VTA BOV's and for some reason i never had a problem with them. car ran fine at idle and between shifts. i still have them and it's been like 5 years. i plan on putting them on my S4 that i am purchasing. oh and it was with a stage 3 kit.
Re: All your Blow Off Valve (BOV) & Diverter Valve (DV) / By-Pass Valve (BPV) Questio
I have a sneaking suspicion that my driver side Bailey DV is bad. I'm getting some oil splatter around it and my car is acting funny at higher boost. I'm getting a code saying that I'm running rich. Anyone else think that my DV might be bad? They're pretty old....At least 5 years.
So I have the samco DV's and I really like them, but I was wondering if they ever need to be serviced or lubricated? And am I correct in thinking that all I have to do is unscrew the top, pull the guts out, clean it, grease the outside of the diafram, and put it back together?
"Clearly, a liger is not as practical as a Katana. S4s can't carry ligers. fucking 500lb cat in my backseat using my alcantara as a scratch post for its HUGE FUCKING CLAWS? I dont' think so bro"
Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and torque is how far you take the wall with you.
I got a quick question. Please don't flame. I recently upgraded to a stage 3 setup. I still need to upgrade my stocker DVs. I was thinking of going with dual Greddy Type-S. However, they will be recirculated of course. Will I run into issues running them this way as opposed to running Diverters? I've always loved that bov. In fact, I've used it on all my previous turbocharged cars.
The reason I'm considering going with the Type S's on the S4 is because I'm getting a hell of a deal on the set. What do you guys think?
