    Project Imola Beast

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I almost never post on AZine but I have been spending more time on the classifieds etc but I wanted to share and get feedback from you guys as well.

Danny at FI (FastIntentions)is doing an amazing job on my car and I am hoping he is reading this ;) (*stroke - stroke*)

    The car:
    01 - Imola - 6spd

    Engine:
Built motor: Rods, Pistons, Cams, Springs, Retainers (Stock Valves - too many too $$), Port polish etc.

    Turbos:
Innovative Custom Setup based on T3/T4 setup

    Engine Management:
    Autronics SM2

Tranny: Stock with center diff. Clutchmasters stage 5 - twin disk clutch..
    etc. etc.

NOW onto the IC - I am thinking about either the ER's or 2 small side mounts from turbonetics liquid to air in the stock location.
    Any thoughts ? Suggestions ?

    Re: Project Imola Beast

Well Liquid to air are the best cooling you can get but are more expensive and harder to mount... the ERs are also nice you can't really go wrong with them

o and how much are you shooting for? Id say 500-600whp? O and please tell me youll take it to the track and put down some awesome #s as well

    Re: Project Imola Beast

the setup "should" do minimum 600-700 whp; the turbos are good for 450 to 550 each. IF spooling does not become too much of an issue .... well... we'll see...

When you say track .. do you mean road course ? or drag ?

Drag - I will definitely do. Road course... not sure if 1000 hp is a road course car but ... like I've said before.. we'll see...

great project you have going there!!! how do you feel about the exhaust downpipes being in the position they're in? would that be excessive heat on top of the heads?

what do you mean? Coilovers and a clutch should do it.. Maybe he rebuilt the tranny but don't think your TIP tranny can handle it

    Re: Project Imola Beast

I think you should go with the ER side mounts or ASP front mount and go with a water/meth setup. If the side/front mount doesn't work out sell them then go with the air/water cooled if you can find room for it in the engine bay I would think that the above mentioned ic's with w/m injection should perform just about on the same level as the a/w cooler no? Pretty gnar project

^strait 3" should be plenty large enough for those turbo's.

but im curious, are those turbo's DBB?? are you running external WG? and where did you get your manifolds/downpipes? custom built by fastintentions?

im sure they are 50 trims since the 50 trims have the BEST compressor map efficiency out there for smaller displacement motors, refering if your motor is built...1.5L per bank...

well. .. I am about to get some more work on the car... the WG on the drivers side is mounted on the turbo and the other side on the piping to keep the heights symmetrical..

ABS - want to use it but not sure how it will work with Autronics..

Autronics - I bought the harness and SM2 from KTR - they had a single turbo conversion car.. I also bought and will install the 500R - CDI box as well..
