I finally got my recently purchased 07 A3 in shape for some pictures. had to re-install body kit and fix lots of issues but its all together now. here are some of the mods on this car:

yup, the dealer listed it on ebay, got a much better deal and good thing too. the body kit was badly installed, and it needed some work.

How was the body kit installed bad? Its Oettinger, its pretty much OEM fitment... had not many issues with my side skirt installs.

The rear should just slide into place as well....

well I am not sure but it seemed they were missing some stuff. the rear fender was missing center supports, side skirts were really just held with one screw at each end and black silicone so they vibrated. the front cap was a mess, I guess the old owner hit some parking stoppers. the inner fender pieces where worn by the tires, it was all loose and the front cap was barely held in place. I had to remove it all and reinstall making some supports out of aluminum for things like the front cap, LED driving lights, etc.

where'd you get the remote start installed at? did it give you any issues?

well, they are not easy to do on this car, i used a can bus interface to get lock/unlock, tach, etc but interfacing for the remote start features has to be done directly to the ignition switch harness wich is not easy to get into. I did the installation myself as I am an electronics tech who used to do this for a living. would certainly not recommend it for anyone to do themselves.

yea, i wouldn't do it myself either.

i took my jetta to a circuit installer years ago and they f'ed up my car just doing a regular alarm install.

not sure who to find to do a remote start install...do you happen to know any referral in the Washington DC area?

Unfortunately not in DC. I have a guy in my area that is good but I have known them for years.
You can do some research into the installer to make sure they have certification, if you use a brand name alarm like Clifford, only certified companies sell and install them so you can at least get a guarantee. just remember that the dealer will likely blame any electrical issues on any aftermarket equipment you install.

only thing id do different is change the silver mesh to black but its defiantly a sick car!!

I was thinking about doing just that, maybe even going with a carbon fiber trim on the grill and mirrors and then black mesh instead of the silver. someone had mounted some plastic pieces in the lower grill holes, I had to make mesh pieces for that area. I also had to make new mounts and replace all the plastic inner fender pieces because they were a mess from the tires rubbing on them.

Yeah defiantly be careful when your messing with the oettinger pieces, they arent cheap. I don't know what happened to his BBS rims, I'm almost positive he sold them on the forums for like $3000+ or something. The cars already wayy sickk, id just do the black mesh, get some sick rims and your sett

I think I read a post saying he was selling them, I got the car with a set of factory rims on them, wrong size too. I got a set of ASA black with polished lips, they look great at least for now. I just picked up the forge diverter valve to go with their blow off adapter. I have a feeling the factory dv valve is begining to fail.

the gauge is made by cyberdine but its sold in a round 2.5in dial. I took the electronics out, remoted the LED displays using ribbon cable and mounted it in the biz card holder hole. you can see some pictures of this in my albums. really worth doing, you dont loose a vent and it works well...
