ECU Removed and sent to APR (DIY Write Up)
The 2007 VW R32 finally arrived last week so i finally have another car i can use whilst the Audis ECU is removed and shipped to APR.
When the ECU comes back chipped with the K04 programs the K04 turbo and any other remaining parts will be installed onto the Audi.
The ECU Write up can be found here http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=114129

Re: ECU Removed and sent to APR (DIY Write Up)
One more piece of advice (but won't be much help in Austrailia, sorry . . )
Removing my wiper was very difficult, and I had the same problem with my B6. I found a tool at NAPA that works perfectly:
"Tie Rod End & Putman Arm Puller" made by Performance Tool, part #W80557.
This is basically a wheel puller, but it fits perfectly over the wiper arm - put it on and just give it a few turns and it will break the wiper loose pretty easily.
mpronline - Nice writeup, great pics, thanks.

I have previously taken off the wiper in order to lift the plastic to get to one of the Torex screws which fastens the ECU protective cover but didnt this time as i managed to get a small Torex screwdriver in there.
The way i got my wiper off was by giving it a couple of good pulls and it eventually popped off.

The "spot welded" bolt actually is not spot welded, heating the bolt up with a paintstripper alows you to remove it the same way you removed the green one, thus elliminating the need to cut the bracket.

I thought that we were actually supposed to bring the vehicle to apr, and removing the ECU to mail it was not an option!!!

The ideal method is to take your car to an APR dealer and have them upload the program via "direct port". Some of use live in ares where there are no ARP dealers (like here on the Big Island of Hawaii or mrponline in Austrailia). We have to send the ECUs in in the old-school way by sending in to APR headquarters.

We do have APR dealers here in Australia. But i purchased my K04 turbo kit directly from APR in the US during Xmas special. But in order to get the programs i wanted (as the local APR dealer woundnt load them) i had no choice but to pull the ECU out and send it in the old school way.

probably not that bad since you are driving the R32 around. Let us know how things go after you get that ECU back and install the rest of your goodies.

And I've found that if you push down on the spring loaded joint it puts the wiper in a more parallel position with the spline and it pulls off very easy. one hand on the spring loaded joint pushing it down, the other hand to pull the wiper off.

Excellent write up, just removed one of the ecu's in the rs4. However I drilled straight through the screw because using the dremel to cut a longtidunal slot and then try and screw the (green one out) is near impossible. The other loctite security screws on the B7 RS4 are not accessable at all from underneath, so again pls add this to your excellent, detailed write up that on the B7 RS4 you have to drill the loctite security screws VERY CAREFULLY and you may be able to remove the green ones. In the rs4 they are not green in colour, they may appear normal silver, or have a red splash on them
See my post on rs246.com
Cheers
