Yeah, the view from home up in Markham wasn't great, didn't get any spectacular shots, a lot up in the clouds lighting up everything which was pretty epic, but the epic lightning came in the second wave but it was south of me and don't have windows facing south (and didn't want to be standing out in the middle of the street or field with a tripod either!)

Hey guys, how's it going?

I was wondering if there were anyone living in the Hamilton/Burlington area that wouldn't mind installing a Diverter Valve for me? I went under the car and took a look, and it looks like a tight spot, a little too tricky for me to get around. If anyone wouldn't mind doing so, I can pay in cash /beer / anything just name it. Audi has already quoted me at $115 to install it, and I know that's way too much.

I'm coming to Montreal next week for the Grand Prix du Canada but this protesting shit has me concerned -- what parts of the city do I need to AVOID to make sure I don't walk into the middle of a protest? The US embassy has already issued an alert.

Where you sleeping? Best bet would be south shore of montreal and cab it to St Helens' island.

Anywhere in the west side of the island is good as well. Farther out but away from all the protestors.

I will not be surprised if they try to go into the crowd and do their protesting, since there will be a lot of cameras , just get plenty of water just in case you find yourself in the middle of unwanted crowd, if you see police with canisters just walk the other way..

What's the best way to get to the circuit? I have a feeling the trains will be overwhelmed with spectators before and after.

Public transportation is the only way to go. It's actually not that bad, just go a bit early and leave a bit later. Mind you last year leaving wasn't all that bad as there was a big rain delay and quite a few people left already (suckers!).

Anonymous - meh, just go and watch the race, if something happens it will, and if not, it won't.
