Question - DIY 17Z Cayenne Based BBK Rotor Options

I'm piecing together a BBK for my B5 S4 based on the 17Z 6 piston Brembo calipers off the Cayenne...

I'm piecing together a BBK for my B5 S4 based on the 17Z 6 piston Brembo calipers off the Cayenne and I want to run 2 piece 330x32mm rotors. I've owned the car for 7 years, I autocross it and have done much of the work to it myself, so I'm far from a novice. I would make it simple and buy a full Stoptech, Brembo, etc BBK, but I have a baby due in August, so I have to save $ where possible (anyone else who's married and/or in a similar situation will understand.....[headbang]), and as much as I would love to go up to a larger 350mm+ rotor, I already have 2 sets of 17" race tires (1 set Toyo RA1's and a fresh set of BFG R1's) hence why I'm going this route.

All that being said, I know JHM and Apikol make 2 piece rotors for this very purpose, but I want to do diligence and explore every possible option before I buy. RacingBrake makes some solid looking rotor replacements for Stoptech BBK's (I've heard their calipers are garbage, but rotors seem to have gotten good reviews) and what I was wondering is if anyone knows whether the 332x32mm Stoptech replacement calipers would be compatible for use with the 17Z calipers off the Cayenne? I work in a facet of military aerospace engineering, so while the difference of only 2mm may seem insignificant to a layman, I know just how much 2mm can affect clearance. Does anyone know if the additional 2mm on the Stoptech rotors would create clearance issues and thus render them incompatible with the Cayenne 17Z calipers? Any relevant input is appreciated.

I know best thing would be a BBK kit but right now it doesn't seem like it's going to happen in the near future but would like to upgrade my stock rotors to slotted ones and looking for different pad options out there. I have upgraded to SS lines and I'm currently using Carbotech XP10 & XP8 (F&R) the rears are finished with uneven wear on the inside rear driver side that has ruined my inner rotor. The fronts are fine but would like to try something new. I have an event in June so planning to use the Carbotech fronts for that event and then switch to newer setup for July/August/September events.

I have searched online and I'm having a hard time finding online vendors for some options that I'm looking at.

Discs in order of preference:

Powerslot
Adam's
EBC slotted (one local vendor was told by his supplier that the rotors aren't very good but the pads are)
ECS geomet

Pads in order of preference:

Pagid RS29/RS19 (can't find any online vendors, yes I've searched)
EBC yellow stuff
Endless ME20
Carbotech (something more aggressive compared to my current setup)
Endless MX72 (street/track)

Any help, recommendations, links would be appreciated.

Hi guys,

So the middle top nut on my rear passenger shock is stripped. The two other nuts that connect to the chassis is secure. Anyone know if it is "safe" to drive in the meantime while I figure out what to do? There are lots of clunking noises coming from the rear when driving over even the tiniest imperfections.

I'm probably going to get the shock rebuild unless re-threading is a safe option? Any other suggestions?

FYI, the shocks are Ohlins and the car is an S5 coupe.

Thanks in advance!

Been looking at a set of D2 RS coilovers as a cheaper option for a 09 B8 FWD A4. I know the pictures and what not on the website show the kits as full coilovers front and rear. But can anyone tell me if the rears are a full coilover or a separate shock and coil with an adjuster on it? I have just heard mixed stories about kits for these coming like that. Anyones info would be great :)

To retract the rear brake caliper pistons, I understand we need to open the E-parking brake(EPB) with a VCDS. Then, do we also need a Brake Caliper Piston Tool to push back the piston or will the VCDS completely open the piston?
If the piston tool is required, one post stated that one of the popular $40 piston tool kits does not have a plate that fits the B8 S4 piston face... which I believe has (3) notches in the face.
ECS sells a kit for the B5 using 321*30 discs (i.e. b7 2.0t) a Porsche caliper and adapters. If a Cayenne caliper bolts up, does that mean the four pot Boxster caliper will fit?
Dont want massive Cayennes....
