hey guys

for a few days now, when i lock my car, whether with remote or i use the key, the alarm would randomly sound.. sometimes for like 10 seconds, 15 seconds, 3 seconds.. not very long. then it would stop, sometimes for a minute, 30 seconds whatever. it was doing it saturday, didn't do it sunday, and was doing it today. it seems that it does it for a while after i drive it. after the cars been sitting there, it stops... but not too sure to really say that's the pattern. lastly, it's just the alarm. no lights flash or anything like it usually does when the alarm is usually triggered off. so at home i just keep it unlocked, but when out or at work, i cant really do that.

any suggestions?

A CEL came on the other day as I was driving to a friends house with the family about an hour away...

A CEL came on the other day as I was driving to a friends house with the family about an hour away via freeway. I was at a light after getting off the freeway and accelerated to get ahead of the Yugo but no luck [:(] and the CEL came on. Finally was able to scan it last night and came up with some very interesting codes that I haven't had before. Also scanning has been somewhat problematic due to losing communication half way through a scan 75% of the time. I haven't had too much time to search but I have read several threads that has me thinking it might be time to move on...and to think I was just praising the car and telling some friends how much I enjoy it. Car drives fine and no noticeable issues like bad idle or hesitation. Known codes that I have had before are 17947, 01592, 01217 and the 3 faults for the rear door, I have replaced the clutch switch and just replaced the t-stat two weeks ago. I did the air bag mod but have to check to see if something else is the issue. It is crazy at my office so I won't be able to respond until afternoon.
Here are the codes -

First, would a test pipe give as much of a 'bang for your buck' difference in terms of performance AND sound?

If not, is there any recommended mufflers with a decent price, or is there another option, like straight piping past the res?

Thanks!

Im about to buy a used GTRS eliminator with 15k miles on it from another forum member. My k03's...

Im about to buy a used GTRS eliminator with 15k miles on it from another forum member. My k03's wastegate is wasted (not actuating correctly) and there is no way in hell im going to replace the turbo with another stock turbo or even a K04. I've done a ton of research on this forum about this turbo upgrade but in my findings there is some controversy on a few things and I just want to get everything straight. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

My car is a 2002 A4 1.8t with 113K miles (stock motor and stock clutch)

Current Mods:
- Revo Stage 2
- RAI 3in Test Pipe
- Forge Splitter DV
- Snub mount
- Magnaflow 16601 exhaust
- Forge TIP

Things I plan on purchasing:
- CX Racing FMIC kit (for the piping)
- Treadstone TR18T Intercooler Core
- 550 injectors
- VR6 or TT Housing
- Revo BT 550 file
- 3 in TIP

As for the clutch..... I know I wont be able to launch my car and really beat on it with the stock clutch and fly wheel. I will replace that when the time comes. Im not about to spend another gino on that right now. I also read countless threads about GTRS or the 71R bending rods. This will be a conservative revo tune. I dont care about hitting a specific power goal i just want the car to be quick and reliable.

What im confused about is a fueling. Do I need a fuel pressure regulator and a fuel pump ? If so which ones would you recommend? Also, do I just buy the MAF housing and swap in my MAF sensor?

I need some ideas on how I can get back at this guy and yes, I know I deserve to be flamed for...

I need some ideas on how I can get back at this guy and yes, I know I deserve to be flamed for this. So do your worst!

About a month ago, I found a guy on Craigslist to do a bunch of work on my car. He said he would do a bunch of work for $1000 less than the Euro Indy shop down the road (Motor Mounts, coolant temp sensor, cam position sensor, VC gasket, and then some). Because it's been a great car (2005 1.8t Quattro manual with 140k miles), I wanted to get it fixed up nice and drive it for a couple more years. But, I can't afford Audi maintenance without cutting corners. So, wanting to save money and have it make sense to keep the car, I agreed.

The deal was that he let's me use his car for a weekend while he does the work. A week later, he brings the car back. The CEL was off and the car ran better than ever. A few days later, the CEL light came on with a code for the coolant temp sensor. Being happy that I saved money, I took it back to him and he recommended changing the rear O2 sensor for $300.

He brought the car back and the CEL (obviously) came back on right after her left so I didn't pay him and he was a pissed. I noticed that the VC gasket was still leaking and so he told me he would take the car and fix it free of charge.

He then promptly disappeared for 7 days and stopped responding to phone and texts. I could see him racking up tolls on the TollTag website, though. Finally, after calling the police, he dropped the car off in my driveway with some BS note of apology saying that his dad had a heart attack or something. He put 500 miles on the car, so basically, he got a free rental for the week.

So, I paid the guy about $1900 and all I'm sure that he did was the Cam Position Sensor, oil filter, replace license plate bulbs, and reset the computer a few times.

He's out there advertizing with another name and phone number out there on Craigslist. I'd like to find some non-violent way to get back at this guy. For example, Flooding his phone with a bunch of calls at 3:00 AM or running him around town to bogus "jobs". However, these are immature.

Maybe I can let him think I'm not onto him and get him back over here to confront him? Maybe I should post warning messages on Craigslist?

I don't know, before I do anything, I thought I'd reach out to you guys for some creative ideas.

Flame on, I deserve it... but if you have any creative ideas, I'd be very appreciative.

BTW, the Indy shop now has my car and is doing the bare minimum to keep the car on the road. I'll probably have to trade it in now at the end of the year.

The clear coat on my 03 1.8t started peeling after some birds with acid poop, shat on the roof. THEN I got egged on the corner of my trunk lid, which splashed onto the quarter panel. The morning I noticed it, I just jumped in the car, and drove to work. I didn't notice it until I got off that afternoon. I can thank my sis for not telling me, because hers was egged too. Anyways. The clear coat took a toll then, but I couldn't afford the deductible for my insurance at the time to have it fixed. Since then, the clear coat on other panels is starting to bubble and peel. The spots where the clearcoat was already gone from the birds and eggs, are starting to fade. I live in Texas, and drive a red car, lovely. The car was really well maintained when I first bought it, and had only 1 owner. I do suspect that they used incorrect wax on it, because when I washed it, I could see little circle pattern when the sun hit it just right.

Does anyone have an idea of how much this would cost down in Texas? The cost of living here isn't horrible. When I was going to claim the bird poo, and egging on insurance, I got a quote for 3 panels at 1200. I figure that was probably pretty steep since they were with the insurance company. I also don't really trust the place where I had it quoted. They replaced my front side panel and door panel when I got sideswiped, and somethings not quite on right because it sticks out a bit and has wind noise.

What do you think this would cost? Any idea what would need to be done, so that I don't take my car in to get repainted and have them tell me I need a bunch of crap done that is unnecessary? Is there anything we can do ourselves that isn't a PITA, and will cut down on cost?

First off, I tried a search but all the threads had no real solution.

Well, it started this morning. Started my car for work and noticed a misfire. Logged it with a friends VagCom and pulled these code:

17705 - Pressure Drop between Turbo and Throttle Valve (check D.V.!)
P1297 - 001 -
16684 - Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected
P0300 - 001 - - Intermittent
16687 - Cylinder 3
P0303 - 001 - Misfire Detected - Intermittent
16686 - Cylinder 2
P0302 - 001 - Misfire Detected - Intermittent
16685 - Cylinder 1
P0301 - 001 - Misfire Detected - Intermittent
16688 - Cylinder 4
P0304 - 001 - Misfire Detected - Intermittent
17544 - Fuel Trim: Bank 1 (Add)
P1136 - 001 - System too Lean - MIL ON

Readiness: 0000 0000

Sent with Good (www.good.com)

Little background, coil packs replaced with R's in 2010. NKE coppers 4 months ago.

We also did a misfire counter, and all four misfires 100+ within a minute.

Ok, the DV valve puzzles me because the car runs on vacuum at idle..

I unplugged the MAF, and it ran smoother. Felt a little misfiring but definitely not as bad.

2 questions

Can I still drive it?

What the fug is wrong with my car.

Im not sure if this is true but is the 02 sensor on the same circuit of the fuel pump? being i have a P0030 code which is the heater circuit on the 02 side .. I also wondering if the wot box is blowing the fuse being it hooks up to the fuel injector # 4 But wouldnt the fuel injector stop working if its shorting to ground ?
