First question does the RSN-D or RSN-E play cd's? and what do you do for a cd changer? recomendations please?
rns-e has sd card slots and the one dvd slot for the navi dvd which plays cds also to my knowledge. you can also connect a cd changer too it but most people do the dvd player in the glove box which allows you to play movies too. send a pm to German Driver (Scott) at Rival Motorsports hes the man to answer your questions

so does the rsnd play cds
from my knowledge the rns-d is the old style built for the pre 2002 B5 platform, should still play cds though. but with either when you are using the nav you cant play a cd in it. most people use the sd slots as the nav will display the names of whats on them or an external dvd/cd player in the glove box

RNS-D was available to the B6 A4 (2001MY-2004MY) in Europe, thus it's available for the B6 in the States, and I'm not sure if they have a recode to fix the tuner issues (different FM). Also, you probably need special Map CD's since they were never made for North America.
