For all you A8 lovers....the new movie "Transporter 2" (opening tomorrow, 9/2), features the new A8. Can't tell from the website which model will be featured, but the one trailer I caught on TV made it look pretty sweet. As the original "The Transporter" featured a BMW 7 series, it's nice to see Audi get some good press.

[:o] I've decided that I like A8's -- and you guys -- so much that I'm going to try to contribute regularly to this forum! After all, what's a fellow AZ member good for if not to help his A8 owner pals with the slowest forum on the site? [;)]

It'll be the W12 model in the movie. You can tell by the new face and the trapezoidal tailpipes. Well, at least I think it's the W12. They coulda just used a new A8 4.2 or something since the entire A8 line will have that face soon. But I'm pretty sure it's the W12.

Good work for trying to get this forum going a bit, too [:)]

OK -- anyone who likes A8's and loves good movie driving scenes / car chases needs to go see this film. The coverage of the A8 is fantastic (Sahand, you're right -- it's the W12), athough, keep in mind that it's a Hollywood film and of course some things are unrealistic (but fun, nonetheless).

There is a [very] brief moment where an A3 comes into the picture and the film also has a pretty good chase scene involving a black Ferrari Megano (I don't know Ferrari's very well -- did I get that right?). Plus, the movie is just hilarious and the fight scenes are Jackie Chan style with an edge -- I winced several times in my seat along with the rest of the theater.

Great press for the A8 and Audi AG in general. Go see it -- it's worth the $10! [up]

Cool movie, yeah some of it was a little unrealistic- but fun. Funny how shots of the Audi grille sometimes had the W12 moniker, and then in other scenes did not???? Kinda like the first movie, where the 7 series was missing a sideview mirror during a chase then comes around a bend with it back on.

Irish, did you mean the black Lambo? at least they were keeping it in the Audi family.

Audi has info on the Audiusa.com website. Here is the link to videos, pics, and other info about the "limousine" in the movie.

You're right -- was a Lambo, not a Ferrari. Not sure what I was thinking there.

Funny you mentioned the note about the grill badge b/c I noticed the same thing. Also noticed the same details about the sideview mirror on the BMW 7 series in the 1st movie! Bugs me now when I re-watch it. Did you also notice that when he launches that BMW from the bridge onto the car carrier, that the far side wheels are missing their tires, then in the next view they've got them? That one was a little obvious I thought.

Great movies though -- wish I had an W12 A8! [headbang]

U kno how in the A8, when he starts his car he has to enter in an unlock code... Can this feature be possible?

I have to accept the **** warning screen every **** time I start the A8, so who knows some day you might have to stick your dick in the ignition just to make sure you not high on Viagra.

Want a TV tuner for the A8, yep you guessed it those **** bastard litigated those options away. There would be so much more to life if **** idiots did not survive there 'accidents'

Oh, yea and while in this negitive frame of mind, I'm getting tied of waiting for my S8 while Audi busy signing movie deals about cars with **** unlock codes. Thats such a dated feature who the **** would want it. Guess some 'responsible' parent gave the 8yr old there advance key and told the stupid ****er be careful....

I MUST SAY THAT IT WAS ONE OF THE MOST UNBELIEVBLE AND MOST HILARIOUS FILMS I HAVE EVR SEEN! PURE COMEDY BUT IT DID ITS JOB IN ENTERTAINING. wHAT ABOUT THE SCENE WHERE HE KNOCKS THE BOMB OFF OF THE BOTTOM OF THE CAR WHILE TWIRLING THRU A WELL CALCULATED JUMP OFF OF A RAMP OR SOMETHING AND THEN STICKING THE PERFECT LANDING! BEAUTY!

Spolier!!!

It is a 4.2 and not a W12. The car was in the rear of Champion Audi in Pompano Beach, FL. IT was totally dogged out. the front bumper was falling off. Lights popped out. Flat tire. A sad sight for a beautiful black A8 with ameretto interior.

I had first seen the car 4 months ago and was told it was used in a movie. I did not know it was going to be the next Transporter. Someone could have bought it for a movie buff resale. ohh well.

yes, but porsche and vw are closely linked:

Ferdinand Porsche was the inventer of the Volkswagen and many of the designs and engine/chassis layouts are similar. Porsche started out producing high end sports cars and eventually got into producing economical versions of the car (called the People's Car) which would become the volkswagen.

Over the years the two companies have teamed up to release certain models as a joint venture such as the 914, 916, and the 924.

and lets not forget the touareg/cayenne relationship...

no they not the same company/group thing, but they are closely linked
