My car keeps throwing two codes, either bank 2 running lean or bank 1 running the opposite of that. I forget the term. Its been a long day. Its throw.it like 7 times in the last year and no one really.says its a problem... if it wasnt a problem it wouldn't throw a CEL. does anyone know a fix has anyone run into this before?

What year?
How many miles?
Have you had any work done recently? Like the 55K service, replaced the engine air filter and/or spark plugs, carbon clean, etc?
Do you have a K&N air filter?

Audi's V8 engines have always been temperamental with their intakes from the old timing belt engines in the C5 A6s/D2 A8s, to the MPI B6/7 S4s, and the FSI V8s. The early A5/S5s from 2008-2011 had engine air boxes that would cause weird intermittent faults. There is a revised part that was part of a required vehicle update for a little while.

Could the K&N be the source of the problem?

I doubt it. Have you ever cleaned and oiled it?

Most likely the air box is not sealed correctly. Try taking off the MAF hose between the mass air flow sensor to the throttle body, then take off the top of the air box, next tighten everything back down while making sure everything appears to be aligned correctly, clear the codes, and watch to see if the codes come back.

Apparatus what came of your issue. I just shipped my car to Hawaii (took 65 days) and it now is coming up with this same issue. My car is a 2012 with 16350 miles w/ APR intake, exhaust and has never does this before until I have the 15k service done here in HI.
