I've had the stage 2 file installed for about 2 weeks now with no issues. While driving tonight, i put the car into "S" and sped up. While doing so the car began to slightly hiccup/surge. I immediately drove home and scanned it, resulting to several faults. Im REALLY hoping somethings not horribly wrong since i just had the testpipe and tune installed because dealing with the dealer/warranty/TD1 is going to be a nightmare. If anybody could look at the scan and let me know what they thinks going on i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

I had the same faults recently however when the car began to hiccup all the lights inside and outside (lowbeams, taillights, instrument cluster, radio and overheads) kept going on and off and eventually stayed off. I turned off the car and then turned it back on again and the lights still wouldn't come on. I had to disconnect the battery and reconnect it for the lights to come back on.

i just noticed the dates the faults occurred was the day the car got flashed, but i have been driving problem free for 2 weeks? Does unplugging the battery erase the tune?

No, unplugging won't erase the tune. Try clearing the codes with your ross-tech cable and scan after putting some more miles on the car. Tune shouldn't have done anything to cause issues. Faults were probably from the flash.

agreed, this looks more like something relatively harmless that happened during the install - maybe battery disconnect or something along that line. I often see codes like these when my car comes back from the Audi dealer. Just clear them and re-scan occasionally. If they come back during regular operation then you have something to investigate. Further, the ecu tune itself should have no impact whatsoever on these components.

remain calm.

Still wondering why it was surging last night, will update thread if that persists.
Thanks to everybody that contributed.

The codes are gone but the car is still surging pretty badly under hard acceleration. Im going to give the APR installer a call. Anybody experience this?

Yep. same thing happened to me. Did you do any electrical work on the car?

The dealer probably forgot to clear out the codes after flashing the software. Just clear it out with VAG COM. Do a CAN based scan and then click clear all codes.

Nope, only thing ive done is Vagcom tweaks like disabling the seat belt chime and rolling the windows down with the key, whats the story with yours surging and how did you get it resolved?

Definitely contact your installer. Probably wouldn't hurt to contact APR either. I had some issues with the Stage 1 upgrade. Installer didn't think my issue was related to the upgrade. Took my car to the car dealer and they ended up re-flashing back to factory. Luckily my installer put the tune back on for free. Several months later I had the same issue re-occur. Did some research and found the problem was due to the tune. Took it back to my installer, presented them with the information I found (non confrontational) and they contacted APR. There was an update from APR that they re-flashed my ECU with and that took care of the issue. That was two years ago and I haven't had a problem since.

I had something similar recently, turned out to be a boost leak. Check your hoses, tighten if necessary.

I had installed the xcarlink module and that seemed to cause the problem. I had taken the car to three apr dealers and none of them can figure out what was wrong with the car and the dealer couldn't figure it out either. I then started to trouble shoot the problem by removing the mods I installed prior to the problem happening. It ended up being a problem with the xcarlink unit so I took it out and I haven't had a problem since.

going in wednesday to have it looked at, another thing i noticed is that it is MUCH more noticeable in 93 octane mode than stock. In fact, stock mode may be not doing it at all.

Could it be something as simple as the gas not really being 93 octane? Or may the installer/flasher accidently put the 100 octane file in that slot or something? I don't know a ton, but shonseb had a good point regarding checking for a boost leak...could explain the surging... Good luck!

lol id be pretty pissed if they accidentally made the 93 octane mode the 100 instead, that could do some pretty serious damage. But im hoping its just simple like a boost leak. Will find out on wednesday
thanks

This. Clear the codes. I am making this suggestions based on your comment about all codes being from the flash day.

I went to the APR dealer today and they found that one of the spark plugs had a hair line crack and was arcing, so they needed replacement. I told the shop to go ahead and replace them. when i got home i noticed the part number of the plugs was for the B7. Any major differences in the plug generations i should be concerned about? Im kinda pissed about it and want to change them just to be safe.
