15% off on parts at either if your a ACNA
member. I go to U Audi for parts. Twice now, Once for 40% off a car cover that never came in, and for an oil filter. They did have an oil filter. And they said they would check the front lower control arms with an appt.[:o]

I've never been to Barrier so I can't say anything about them. I have been treated well by Graham Campbell @ U Audi. [up] He is the only one I will talk to when I bring my car there. What's wrong with your car BTW?

nothing wrong w/ my car. Just trying to find a more mod friend dealership. Barrier seems to keep one eye shut when it comes to it. But I dont really like their service department. So I was going to try U Audi and see if they're any better. So just wondering what peoples' experience w/ U Audi was like.

graham campbell is a great guy. he is VERY friendly and is appreciative about mods... but I don't think will honor your warranty if they find out you are chipped...

one of the young guys at barrier is a tight guy... I hung out with him when I was looking around to buy my car.... unfortunately their prices were WAY too high (like 39k w/out tax) so I bought my car at University.

I know I took a risk w/ the chip and I dont expect him to cover my engine issues to come. Hopefully I'll make it to 70,000 miles (end of my extended warranty) without serious issues. I was going to put in coilovers this summer...so I am iffy on that depending on how dealerships take that.

haha OT on my own thread...trying to sell my rims. Some guy actually wants them but he's only had 2 posts and registered since Dec/2004 so its kind of hazy. But he gave me address and number so I should just go ahead w/ the sell? [confused]

As long as he will pay cash, I don't care how many post he has and wher he lives.

I have FIRST HAND Experience with both.

I worked for Barrier in Service and know the fellas at University Really well!!!!!!

When I left Barrier all the great Techs Porsche, Audi and Jag split too!.

Head Audi Tech(awesome tech BTW) Mike went to University (is now a VW Servive writter there).
The Manager Phil and the Service writters and Dave in Parts are awesome people in my book!!!!

I am the "pickiest bastard on the face of the earth" and they have fullfilled my every need - I do not Bullshit!
These people not only service but drive them too!

You have questions, I have facts. Call me if you are in doubt.

If there's anything this old 46 yr old dude can share with you regarding the car business is:

**** BARRIER! they are total douche bags......unless you are old or over 25 they don't take you seriously. I went to barrier to buy (that day) an 05 A4 ultrasport. they kept bullshitting and wouldn't give me the price cause i "didn't have the funds" as they put it. i would have bought one from U Audi had they not all been sold. I bought a jetta GLI that day instead (i ended up putting half down) I will NEVER do business with Barrier. they lost a big customer when they turned me away. cause i am a huge car enthusiast and plan on owning many cars ( i never really like keeping em too long)

i get what you mean skibum. But so far the sales reps have shown me nothing but the best. I walked in and they really gave it 100%. I told them I was in the market for a car, and without any hesitation they showed me all the available cars and optioins and then let me test drive. I asked to drive more and they went ahead and let me. I say thumbs up to the Barrier sales reps...at least the new ones because I think a lot of these guys are new.

Sales seemed to be alright there. Yet it's the service dept that keeps the customer.
For me the place has to have both.
University has both so far.
And I've heard good words about Campbell/Nelson on the VW end.

I talked to Jin today and he said big thumbs up to U Audi when it comes to modded Audis. I'll give them a try this upcoming warranty service...see how they do on the car.

ive never been to u audi just barrier this weekend to get a drainplug and a filter they quoted me $6 for a drainplug but when i got there i had to pay like 14 or 15 for it. then they told me the filter was $8 and when i got there they charged me 13 for it which is about the same price i have been getting the k&n for its not that big of a deal on the price i just wish they knew what they were talking about is all .

OT screw the K&N drop in filter, you will run the same with a reg. drop in fliter.

I have never been to U audi, but i must say Barrier were always helpful to me i was 20-21 years old when i went there. No complaints here

I bought my car from University Audi and liked their service. Their service loaners are nice (got a 3.0 A4 once and a 1.8t Jetta 5 speed once) and Graham is a great guy. Always chatting with him about my Miata and discussed coilovers for the Audi with him. Biggest downside I see with University is that their parts/service dept isn't open on weekends...big PITA for me. Also, when I tried to get a service apt for my check engine light, their earliest apt w/loaner was 3 weeks away!

I've taken my car to Barrier twice. Once for above mentioned check engine light/seat heater replacement. No problems...got a loaner car (they use enterprise instead of having a fleet of VW/Audi loaners like University) and had no problems. Other time was for an alignment and also had no problems. Both times I was able to get a service appointment the next business day which was very nice.
