H&R Sport Springs mounted over Bilstein Sport Shocks. The springs really lowered a bit too much in the rear, made it look like I had a dead body in the trunk. I would not do those again.
I think it is more optical illusion than anything. Went from non-sport stock height (ground to top of wheel well) 27.25" front 26.5" rear to 26.0" front and 25.5" rear, eventually settling to 25.5" front and 25.0" rear. The difference in ride height of 1/2" is less than the stock difference of 3/4", but the lack of wheel gap made it lok odd.
Anyway, the ride was a bit too harsh on the H&R Sports. If you are upgrading the springs, you might as well upgrade the shocks, since they have to be removed to mount the new springs. I avhe heard good things about Koni/Eibach combinations, but I have no personal experience with those.
FYI - If you can afford it, go coilovers. These things ride beautifully, and you can't beat the adjustability to dial in the desired ride height!

I put the H&R springs and new Konis on my A6. They are great as far as I am concerned. The ride is not too harse for me but I replaced the stock shocks that had 90K miles so that might be part of it. I really like the look. It went down 1.75in in the front and 1.5in in the back. looks nice.

Thanks for the input guys. Ive learned that Eibach makes OEM sport springs, which I was leaning towards. Now I dont know. I also dont know if I want to keep the OEM shocks, or upgrade to (who knows what) aftermarkets...ah decisions, decisions.

I put Eibach springs with my OEM shocks and it rides great. Much sportier with a comfy ride. Wanted lower stance immediately so I did it this way first. Next summer I will install coilovers for ultimate adjustment....need to save some cash for them first.

Thanks for the reply. Thats all I needed to hear...2.7Ts and 4.2s ride so close, I just needed to hear it. I ordered Eibachs yesterday for $220 for the set, but they wont be in for three weeks because of the wholesaler I went through. Thanks for the info though...Ill be sure to post before and after pics!

Im doing all four front upper control arms, the Eibachs and an alighnment at the same time. Think anyone would want to see the process in the Tech Tips forum?? I can take digitals every step of the way....

Are you doing it yourself? That would probably help alot of DIY'ers. Without these forums....my DIY Eibach install would of been a disaster.
