I had the Tanoga SS on my B5 S4. Definitely shorter, more positive shifts, but increased effort. The trick is to adjust it properly, and even then I had some occasional resistance going into reverse. I think Zev at Avalon still sells the Tanoga SS.

I was looking at Neuspeed or othrers that Nopionline.com has and stratmosphere has

my cousin has short throw on his RSX Type-S and it feels better for some reason [;)]

Have you seen the Toy Guy short shifter?

www.toyguydesign.com

Everyone I know that has installed one of these says it is the best!

I had a B&M in my A4 and S4. I know the 6pseed in the S4 and A6 are identical. I liked it. Nothing like the RSX though. My fried has one...actually keeps it at my house through the winter so I'm pretty familiar with it and I installed the SS on it. All 6 of his gears seem like 1/2 inch apart and its not a bad feeling at all. I was amazed. I think all of our shifters will seem long compared to the RSX short shifter.
