My dad is considering purchasing an Audi TT 225 as a fun/track car. He wants to know whether or not most tracks will allow you to run with the stock roll hoops or whether a full roll cage is required. Any help would be great, thanks!

All the tracks I have run in southern/central Cal allow soft top TT's

Groups like Audi club use the broomstick rule. i.e. there must be an inch of room between the top of your helmet and a broomstick placed on the windshield and roll hoops. Not a problem unless your 7 foot tall, but then you would not fit in a TT anyway.

Tell your dad to go for it, it is a super fun track car. I was just at Laguna Seca in the ran, and with quattro we were all having a blast.

Unless he is racing wheel to wheel there is no need for a cage.

Sweet! Black is such a great color for the TT, if it wasn't such a B to keep clean...
That's why I went with white, that and it is such a rare color. I still have not seen another white 225 coupe.
There were tons of TT's at this years Audi club event at Laguna Seca, many more than last year. I will keep an eye out for you.

There are some good track eevents coming up at Buttonwillow and Willowsprings.
