I have a DDM kit right now but I hate dealing with going through the warranty process. So my bulb just went out last night and I am thinking of getting a different brand that will last longer. any suggestion or experience?

no suggestions, but make sure you don't touch the bulb with your bare fingers. though i've only manhandled halogen bulbs, it's true ** you touch them with your bare fingers and the life is cut short.

I bought the digital slim balasts from carhidkits.com for my wife's mini van and they work great!

Are u definite about the bulbs are bad? Did u check the ballast or the error eliminator box? Use a multi-meter to make sure first. 9 out of 10 times is the ballast going.

Well it probably is my ballast that went bad but its going to be my 3rd one now. So I dont know how reliable they really are now.

Philips, GE, Orsam Sylvania. Stick with those, and I think you relability should go up.

^^ same here, so far so good. Plus they have most of the brands mentioned by Operator.
I went with a Korean brand (Blesk) because it was cheaper due to the 4th of July sale.

I use hidextra.com for all of my HID's. This is the 2nd car that I've used them on and they are great. Bulbs are of excellent quality and the black slim ballasts work really well. Also, they are much cheaper priced than most HID kits that I've seen online. I think a kit (2 bulbs + 2 ballasts) goes for about $60 with free standard shipping. My old car had one of their kits in it for 2 1/2 years with NO problems.

OP i PMd you about HID kits.
Right before you install the bulbs, wipe them with an alcoholic pad to get rid of the oils that might be on them from your fingers

I went through a number of different brands and I realized that once I got the digital slim ballast, the problem was gone ususally the ballast or the bulb behind the air box would get hotter than the drivers side. When it happened to one of my friends I can realized it right away. no more problems since then
